# KidStock — an illustrated explorer’s world

**Internal proposal · 10 October 2026 · connected world, Discover and company destinations review (direction 04)**
Owner: Alfred, product designer / front-end prototyper, dispatched by CP-ASN-0002. Accountable human: Aastha Gupta. Local branch: `session/kidstock-kid-ui-2026-10-10`.

## Revision after review

Aastha selected **Illustrated explorer’s world**, then asked for brighter colours and a shorter company journey with quizzes and missions. Her latest review favoured the earlier cinematic header, retained “Idea → quiz”, and asked for richer content previews, a genuine Discover route, and meaningful Home actions. Direction 04 restores the cinematic composition in the brighter palette. Visible chapter covers, a quiz destination and mission previews replace five identical accordion rows. Collections open in focused native dialogs; a chapter selector lives inside the reader; missions use separate detail pages.

**Home → Discover → Company now has a clear hierarchy.** Three district signs in the Home illustration are all operable and route to distinct district filters. The companion explains what to tap. The card under the scene resumes the watchlist mission, then changes to a next-chapter invitation after completion. It no longer duplicates the scene’s Netflix link. Discover is a dedicated searchable directory, with a district dropdown, authored company records, opening introductions, future-arrival reasons and empty search state. Every directory card opens a company-specific destination; Netflix is the full interactive journey, while other companies have substantive field-note previews.

Earlier passes remain in Git: `ea2ce6c`, `dae3dba`, `8d7737d`. No new raster image generation in this revision. Existing scenery and original character/product artwork are retained; code-native icons provide chapter and activity illustrations.

**Read the [engine coverage audit](engine-coverage.md).** It maps company fields, all 14 mission condition families, availability/progress/rewards and whole-product boundaries. It identifies concrete application gaps: a placeholder mission detail route, cooldown/readiness disagreement, missing step-action targets and incomplete response types. These have reviewable design/contract corrections here; the application and backend are unchanged.

The built-in imagegen tool produced `assets/discovery-town-v2.png`; the exact prompt is in `prompts.md`. It contains no people, characters, text or logos. The existing wolf is placed unchanged above it in HTML. The town’s buildings are invented scenery, not depictions of corporate offices. The current PNG is about 2.45 MB and local-only; production needs responsive compressed formats and a slow-network pass before adoption. No image optimization or performance claim is inferred from local loading.

## The direction

KidStock should help a child understand a company, make a considered choice, and learn from what happens. This direction serves ages 8–14, including younger children who read English as a second language. It gives learning a place: companies become destinations in a discovery town, with a familiar companion and a readable journal inside each visit. A clear next step and optional depth keep the scene useful.

**Built for this review:** [style tile](style-tile.html), [Home](pages/home.html), [Discover](pages/discover.html), [Netflix](pages/company.html), [Mission Club](pages/missions.html) and [mission detail](pages/mission.html?kind=case), connected from [the cover](index.html). Try the quick quiz at any score, review a virtual investment, then complete a Case Study. Chapter readers resume, chapter quizzes open after reading, and optional company missions remain available after selling. The local wallet and completion records persist within this tab. This expands the original checkpoint at Aastha’s explicit request; it is still not the entire product prototype.

**Type and space.** Locally served Bricolage Grotesque gives the big questions a distinctive display voice; Nunito keeps body copy open and readable. Body copy is 16–17 px; useful secondary information is 13–14 px; 12 px is reserved for short metadata. Section headings are 24–32 px on phones; display headlines reach 44–58 px with short lines. Buttons are 52 px tall, utility controls 48 × 48, and navigation targets at least 44 × 44. The page works at 360 px and 393 px; desktop places it in an 852 px phone frame.

**Colour and illustration.** Keep blue `#3E28E0` and bright mint `#23F8B5`. Replace beige paper, muted mauve and dark green with fresh white `#FFFFFF`, sunny yellow `#FFE447` and vivid coral `#FF6555`. Dark ink `#191735` makes bright surfaces readable; supporting text is `#56536C`. Blue is the primary action, mint is discovery/learning, yellow is a question or invitation, coral gives Netflix its character. Pale sky/lilac are small secondary icon surfaces, not the page mood. The town, original wolf and Netflix product art stay unchanged. No additional generated images in this revision.

**Guidance and freedom.** The company page shows its content before asking a child to open anything: two actual chapter covers and titles, a named quiz destination, an eight-activity mission destination and Case Study / Business Builder previews. Readers and quiz collections use native pop-ups with close/Escape support, restored keyboard focus and readable labelled icons. The reader’s dropdown exposes all four chapter titles and their current availability. News/ID and investment are secondary sheets; company facts use a small disclosure inside their sheet. Mission detail is a page because it needs a scenario, prerequisites, questions and completion. No obligation to invest to continue reading or taking chapter quizzes.

Discover contains one company directory instead of duplicated recommendations/trending lists. Search matches names and products; the district dropdown filters the directory. A readable gate explains how an unopened district works. The day-9 fixture opens Tech and Entertainment, makes Gaming’s intro available, and previews Food’s authored day-22 arrival. A company that is merely unseen is labelled “Open to explore”, never padlocked.

**Motion and tone.** No automatic reveals, loops or confetti. Buttons have a small pressed-depth response; reduced motion removes transitions. The optional Speed Challenge has an explicitly started 60-second timer; a separate untimed practice round has no reward/mastery pressure. Learning points, virtual cash rewards and investment returns have distinct labels. News is separate from a trade receipt; no gain/loss is invented on purchase. All gameplay answers use taps.

## Authority for departures

Aastha instructed this session: **“Anything that is an existing weakness, even if it is bound by a rule, fix it, and then in your proposal document, have a note addressing it.”** This authorises departures in this internal design proposal. The matrix below makes them explicit. It does not silently amend the engagement decision log, change the application, or claim client acceptance. Historical frames and the 10 px type hold remain evidence, not restrictions on this exploration.

The educational loop, real-money exclusion, separate XP and cash, accessible category explanation, tap-only gameplay answers, no leaderboards, and unlimited self-paced learning remain sound and are retained. This is not a proposal to remove financial consequences. It changes how a child understands them.

## Weakness and rule-departure register

“Built” means demonstrated in these checkpoint files. “Next stage” means specified here, with the screen and interaction still to be built after the checkpoint. “Engine work” means a visual prototype alone cannot resolve it.

| Review findings | Weakness / existing rule | Correction and reason | Checkpoint status |
|---|---|---|---|
| F01, F02 | Learning Moment mixes event movement, holding gain, and several inconsistent numbers. | Use a single cost/value comparison from one snapshot. Show the event’s move separately in news. Explain a sign mismatch explicitly; never infer that one event explains the entire return. Require an engine/data check with a real loss fixture. | Style tile demonstrates ₹1,000 → ₹950 = ↓₹50. Full gain/loss/no-change states and engine checks: next stage. |
| F03 | Loss paragraph is red; downward icon appears on profit. Frame 13. | Neutral ink for the reason. Sign, arrow and words for the result; positive/negative/unchanged icon follows the value. | Built in loss style specimen. |
| F04 | Complex vocabulary and long source blocks. | Simplify core copy to short sentences; explain terms at first encounter; retain richer content behind “more”. Target grade 4–5, then test comprehension with children; do not equate a formula with comprehension. | Netflix rewritten from demo sources; subscription definition built. Full content pass and child testing remain. |
| F05, F06 | 10 px body / 8 px chips; faint colours. Decisions 20, 88/89 and current frame-first rule. | Replace type scale with 16–17 px body and 12 px absolute floor. Reflow cards instead of squeezing text. Darken supporting text and company-colour labels. | Built; automated size, target and palette checks plus visual review. |
| F07 | Small close targets, precise slider, hard-to-hit links. | 48 px close/save controls; ≥44 px links; large amount presets lead, with an optional larger slider or keypad. | Current controls built; money inputs next stage. |
| F08 | One tap commits an investment; no preview. Invest frame; decision 85’s double-tap caution. | Amount → readable review → explicit confirmation. Show what is owned and cash remaining. Disable pending submission; one idempotency key per action in production. | Buy/review/receipt and sell-all confirmation built locally. Backend duplicate protection and partial sale remain required. |
| F09 | Raw unit fractions and paise obscure meaning. | Whole-rupee summaries labelled “about” where rounded; “part of a share” explained. Exact quantities and paise available in transaction detail; never calculate from rounded displays. | Home uses exact whole-rupee synthetic fixture. Trade detail next stage. |
| F10 | Treasure chests imply jackpot discovery. Starting Money / Mystery frames. | A clue card reveals a company with no chance-for-value mechanic. Starting funds become a calm practice wallet with ₹. | Mystery and wallet built; onboarding next stage. |
| F11 | Streak pressure; decision 27 rewards uninterrupted return with cash. | Remove return-pressure copy and streak from Home. Propose cumulative learning days and optional badges, with no cash contingent on consecutive attendance. Existing economic reward rules need an explicit decision before integration. | Home fixed. Reward policy departure documented; engine unchanged. |
| F12 | Break reminder exists only as a setting. | A real 45-minute activity reminder, with “Set by your grown-up” explanation. A calm pause screen preserves progress and offers leaving without guilt. | Gentle Home copy built; timer and pause screen next stage; production timer is engine/app work. |
| F13 | Pop-ups default on; linked-adult visibility unclear. Decision 74. | Default unsolicited pop-ups off. Bell still works. Say when a grown-up can view progress. Do not mark unread items read merely by opening the list. | Next stage; checkpoint’s bell is a local world-guidance dialog, not a notification centre. |
| F14, F15 | Adult step/privacy missing; nickname mistaken for real name. Decisions 12/35 allow linking later; decision 36 requires privacy access. | Put a grown-up/privacy step before a real account; allow a clearly separate synthetic demo. Show nickname hint, password rules and show/hide. Add a child-readable privacy summary, with no promises beyond actual policy. Specialist-defined consent and recovery contract required before real-child rollout. | Design departure specified, not a claim of legal compliance or implemented consent. Onboarding next stage. |
| F16, F17 | Hero dial and dense traits; duplicate trait; “Avatar Shop” despite no shop (decision 3). | Large selectable hero cards, three stable plain traits, and “Change hero”. All nine remain available. | Companion / trait language demonstrated; picker and profile next stage. |
| F18 | Developer placeholders on reachable child routes. | Real empty/loading/error states with clear return paths. No developer explanations in the child flow. | Built pages have no developer placeholders. Missions now works; You remains disabled in this limited review, not proposed for production. |
| F19 | Wrong mission company, possessives and spelling errors. | Bind text to the right content object; review UI and authored copy together. | Netflix mission titles and content bound to shared objects. Source authoring weaknesses and corrections documented in the engine audit. |
| F20 | Quick quiz tests dates and HQ, not understanding. | Questions about revenue, costs and paying members; every answer taught on the page. Explanation adds meaning. | Three revised questions built. These are proposed copy changes derived from the demo, not exact copies of the current question workbook. |
| F21 | Breaking News immediately after buying suggests instant returns. Decision 75. | Buy → receipt/ownership → optional chapter. News and Learning Moment follow a subsequent market day. If today’s news is shown during purchase, explicitly say it happened before the purchase. | Style specimen labelled “one day later”; complete flow next stage. Decision 75 departure is intentional. |
| F22 | Quiz buried under long company page; overlapping sticky controls. | Quiz entry near the top; a short core explanation; progressive disclosure; one bottom navigation, no stacked trade bar. | Rebuilt as chapter covers, quiz/mission destination cards and two scenario previews. Collections use focused sheets; mission activities use pages. Secondary news and investment controls remain compact; no section-selector strip. |
| F23 | Conflicting journey labels and colour-only completion. | One source of journey state; checkmark/number plus Done/Next/Your choice. Learning is ongoing, not a barrier to Invest. | Shared local state updates quiz eligibility, chapter counts, mission completion, invested/mastered label and wallet. Production mapping uses passport + quiz state. |
| F24 | Padlocks on companies that are available. Collection frame vs decision 29. | “Not explored yet” for unseen companies. Reserve locks for real categories; explain the mission that opens them. | Discover now distinguishes available companies, unopened districts and future listings. |
| F25 | Repeated trending/recommended/all lists, thousands of pixels. | One company list with category/search filters. A genuinely distinct weekly feature; market-movement view only when it adds information, not pressure. | Home district links open the dedicated searchable company directory. Its lower card resumes a different activity; no duplicate Netflix CTA. |
| F26 | Warning icon for ordinary company description. | Use a neutral product/people/film icon. | Built. |
| F27 | Destructive and safe actions look identical. Decision 34 calls for double confirmation. | Keep progress is primary; reset is outlined and described. Second distinct confirmation, no accidental default. | Next stage. |
| F28, F29 | Diversification has no explanation; one holding has a “best” trophy; icons overlap text. | Explain spreading choices in simple words. Show a useful learning insight, not a performance contest. Keep icons separate from labels. | Clean Home summary built; Portfolio next stage. |
| F30, F31 | Only 393 px checked; heavy fonts; assistive use not verified. | Verify 360 and 393; local WOFF2; labelled controls, native dialogs/disclosures, focus-visible, reduced-motion. | Current pages checked at both widths. VoiceOver/TalkBack, real-device touch, and throttled network tests remain; no full accessibility-certification claim. |

## What it would take to build on the existing engine

Read-only application reference: `origin/main` at `079147a5f3a02b8d495ccfc8116fcc2d092f6ef5`. These are source observations, not a staging verification or a production estimate.

| Area | Reuse observed in source | Work required |
|---|---|---|
| Home | `Home.tsx` already reads `/v1/me`, `/v1/progression`, `/v1/badges`, `/v1/money/portfolio`, `/v1/engagement/on-open`, `/v1/passports/today`, `/v1/missions`, `/v1/companies`. | Replace composition and tokens. Derive an appropriate next company. “Chapters read / ideas explored” needs confirmed aggregate reads; do not mistake level or XP for those counts. |
| Company | `Company.tsx` uses `POST /v1/companies/:id/open`, carrying profile blocks, brand colour, products, news, chapters, quizzes, journey and passport eligibility. Investment and mission reads already exist. | Activity previews, focused collection dialogs and working readers/quizzes/trades/missions built locally. Preserve server-authoritative eligibility and versioned content during integration; see engine audit. |
| Watchlist | `Invest.tsx` uses `POST /v1/passports/:id/watchlist` with `{on}`. Passport contains watchlisted state. | Use the same mutation from all save controls; invalidate shared state. Prototype sessionStorage is only a local convenience. |
| Money | `/v1/money/portfolio` and `/v1/money/buy` are present. | Add a review/receipt view over existing amounts. Verify idempotency, pending state and authoritative price/cash on confirmation. Keep paise/micro-units internally. |
| Outcomes | `OutcomeMoment.tsx` reads `/v1/money/outcomes`, embedded event and `holdingNow`, plus market events fallback and portfolio. | Separate purchase receipt from later market outcome. Reconcile cost/current value/result from a consistent snapshot; avoid explaining cumulative P&L with an unrelated event. May require a richer cause/time contract rather than presentation-only work. |
| Learning / missions / profile | Company schema exposes chapter completion, quiz role, mission kinds; Profile reads current player/progression/badges and uses reset-progress. | Mission list/detail/result now designed and locally working. Source mission detail still routes to Placeholder; list readiness/cooldowns and action metadata need correction. See audit for exact contract gaps. |
| Child setup / wellbeing | Existing username/password and adult-link concepts; break reminder setting exists in reviewed implementation. | Grown-up-before-account consent flow, anonymous demo boundary, privacy copy, operational break timer and changed streak policy require product/engineering work. A prototype cannot implement or validate these services. |

**Relative build size:** the visual system and Home/Company recomposition are medium UI work. Applying it across the full route set is large UI/content/QA work. Trade confirmation and later outcome presentation are medium interaction work, rising if data reconciliation needs API changes. Consent is a separate product/security workstream whose scope is not established here. Removing streak-conditioned cash is an economy change requiring decision and validation. No fee, staffing commitment or delivery date is being set by this proposal.

**Reused screens:** Home, Discover, Company, learning, quizzes, Invest, Sell, Portfolio, notifications, badges, recap, profile and settings retain their route purposes. **New views within those flows:** explicit trade review and receipt, readable gain/loss/no-change explanation, grown-up setup/privacy, operational pause reminder, clear category gate and empty state, Case Study mission detail and completion. “New view” does not automatically mean a new endpoint.

## Evidence, fixtures and boundaries

- Source hierarchy: client Development Response / Direction; Fundamental Rules and Alignment; engagement scope v1.1 and decisions 24–41, 59–61, 72–78, 90–92; independent review `qa/reviews/design-review-8-14-2026-10-09.md`. Inherited specs inform the design; later decisions and Aastha’s explicit exploration instruction take precedence.
- Company copy and art: demo-set v0.4 and the `world-design/demo-content/companies.py`, `learn.py`, `chapters.py`, `missions.py` authoring sources. Netflix tagline/products/core facts retained; prose simplified. News condenses the demo streaming investment story and correctly describes its scripted rise; it is visibly labelled a made-up market event. Quick, chapter and mission questions are proposed adaptations from those sources. `adapt-content.py` records the transformations; builder figures stay consistent with the authored calculation.
- Fixture: fictional nickname Starling, level 1, one chapter read, two ideas explored; ₹8,750 cash + ₹1,250 investments = ₹10,000 total. This is a constructed initial state, not a fetched account. Apple is already watched and held. Netflix starts without an investment. Local interactions update money, learning and mission totals; no market or level engine runs. The style tile’s ₹1,000 → ₹950 illustration is separate and labelled.
- The checkpoint uses the provided character, company art and mark without alteration, alongside original generated town scenery. Demo asset rights remain as recorded (pending for external use); local-only reuse follows the dispatch. Both fonts are bundled under their included OFL licences. Town scenery is the only newly generated raster asset; its source path, prompt and checksum are recorded.
- No framework, service worker, analytics, external font calls or backend. HTML opens directly from disk. Session storage holds only fictional review state: progress, answers, wallet, trades, watchlist and mission completion. Reloading or moving between pages in the same tab preserves it. A new browser context resets it. This is not production persistence or security.
- Home’s level pill is retained; prominent XP progress will be placed near the hero in Profile, explained as learning points. The Home learning counts need a real aggregate contract rather than hard-coded numbers.
- `captures/checks.json` records layout and interaction checks. The contact sheet distinguishes viewport captures from full reading-page captures; sticky navigation is temporarily placed at document end only for full-page screenshots, never in the shipped CSS. Desktop captures use the actual scrollable phone frame.
- Not yet done: remaining routes, phone-based usability testing, screen-reader testing, full keyboard traversal of every future screen, legal/policy validation, engine changes or deployment. This expanded review is not the completed end-to-end prototype.

## Remaining product work

Complete the mapped onboarding → production discovery integration → later outcome → full portfolio/sell → recap/profile flow; integrate the expanded company and mission views. The coverage audit distinguishes the current working local interactions from unresolved engine and content contracts. Include both loss and gain, no-change, wrong answers, empty/locked states, money-word explanations, privacy/grown-up step, break state and reset confirmation. Keep every screen linked back to the journey and cover, record any further departures here, and capture each at 393 px plus core screens at 360 px.

## Test C continuation · first checkpoint (11 October 2026)

This section is the current checkpoint; revision 4 and its F01–F31 register above remain the history. The operator resumed Test C and said “continue”. The shared brief v1.0 now governs. The first review packet was prepared early, on 11 October, for the prompt's Monday Learning Moment / Portfolio checkpoint. This is **not completion of §7** and not acceptance of the design.

### What the brief changed

- Added `pages/news.html` and `pages/learning-moment.html`: gain, loss and no change, in both reading bands. The news postcard carries original Netflix art; the journal holds the result, reason and question to carry forward. Loss has the same layout, size and neutral ink as gain.
- Added `pages/portfolio.html`: empty, one holding in each sign, and several holdings. One holdings-value headline excludes available cash. For a single holding its current value lives at the top; the holding card shows cost and change and refers back, avoiding the same value twice. Several-holding cards carry each holding's three values. “Latest update”, “Watch next”, direction arrows and the dated update remain.
- Added `pages/profile.html` early solely as a working dependency for the band setting, with the existing wolf and fictional nickname. Parent band selection persists within the tab. Full hero selection, level, settings and start-over belong to the later Profile checkpoint. Legacy screens still need their full band/copy pass.
- Home retains its town, three operable district signs and separate mission-resume ticket. Its wallet is now its only monetary headline. Duplicate holdings/total tiles and ornamental learning counts were removed; no state balance or reward policy changed.
- Bottom navigation is Home / Discover / Missions / Portfolio / Profile, all real routes. Existing company collections, reading, missions and reviewed trades remain.

### C5 landed during this session

Merged `main` a second time, to `a710869`, after C5 Netflix, guide and grade checker arrived. `adapt-c5.py` reads the unmodified `child-voice/netflix.json` and emits `c5-reflection-data.js` with source SHA-256, version, paired strings and reconciled amounts. `reflection-copy.js` remains the paired interface-copy source, not a second authored Netflix story.

The new outcome/Portfolio cards use C5's samples: **₹500 → +₹40 → ₹540; ₹500 → −₹30 → ₹470; ₹500 → +₹0 → ₹500**. These are separate, fictional snapshots after a purchase, not a simulated market engine or a claim that C5's three-day +8% event pays in one real day. Default Portfolio still reconciles the revision 4 Apple holding plus actual local Netflix buys. Review sample links never mutate cash, trade history, mastery or rewards. Direct Learning Moment without a sample says no update is waiting. This avoids creating an instant outcome on buy.

The calculation strip uses **holding/company impact → result**. It derives the sample percentage from exact integer paise, shows the multiplication and then cost plus signed change. There is no invented broad-market component, compound-return attribution or API field. Integration still needs Engineering's answer to the A/B/C note. All percentages are confined to the strip; it starts folded for 8–10 and open for 11–14.

### Header pairings and brief precedence

| Reference / brief header | Test C's journal treatment | State |
|---|---|---|
| Learning Moment | “Look closer. Learn something.” with the explicit Learning Moment eyebrow | Built |
| Breaking News | “A new page in the story.” and Netflix field-post postcard | Built |
| How the calculation works | Same title, a vertical journal strip | Built, two steps until attribution is confirmed |
| Why did it change? | Same question header | Built |
| Something to watch | Same title on a yellow note | Built |
| Portfolio | “Your portfolio.” under “Your field notes” | Built |
| Latest update / Watch next | Same titles inside each holding | Built |
| What do they do? / How do they make money? | Revision 4's “Great shows. A monthly fee.” covers these ideas; C5's separate question cards will replace the condensed treatment | Remaining §7 company pass |
| Why it matters / Big idea / Did you know? / You've seen these | C5 fields map directly into the journal; revision 4 currently distributes them across chapters and the news/ID sheet | Remaining §7 company pass |
| What you learned | Three C5 ticked sentences on quiz complete | Remaining §7 quiz pass |

No new departure from the binding brief is proposed here. Three interpretation/integration issues are explicit:

1. The working strip necessarily repeats the operands used in the three-number card: it is the brief's named educational exception, not an extra chip or headline.
2. C5's guide/headlines include the change amount in the headline as well as the card. **Brief §3 wins**: the adapter removes the amount from gain/loss headlines, preserving the direction and C5's reason/watch strings. It does not edit C5. For zero, `+₹0.00` is accompanied by “stayed the same”; there is no positive-change claim.
3. C5 recommends whole-rupee rounding but explicitly leaves that decision to Aastha. Exact paise remain in the ledger; the supplied samples are already whole rupees. C5's three quiz options conflict with the brief's four; this checkpoint does not revise the quiz or silently invent a fourth authored option. Both points are in the orchestrator note.

### Build cost and limits

Breaking News and Learning Moment are medium UI work over the existing outcomes/event reads **if** Engineering can supply a consistent cost/current-value/change snapshot. Attributing separate market/category/company effects is additional contract work, not promised. Portfolio is medium UI/state integration: join current holdings, last-update metadata, event reasons and navigation; reconcile server paise and units, and refresh after trades. The Profile band preference is small local UI work but a durable parent-controlled band and band-specific published quizzes require profile/content contracts and cache/version handling. The remaining full journey is still large UI/content/QA work. No commercial estimate or delivery commitment is made.

Deferred routes required by the brief stay explicit: S23 notifications at the Home bell; S24 pause reminder over the current activity; S25 interest nudge alongside wallet context; S26 badges from Profile's learning record; S42/S43 low cash / zero cash in the amount picker; S32 glossary from inline money words. Adult/admin S33–S41 are outside these prototypes.

### Evidence and next checkpoint

`checkpoint-states.json` names 24 screen/state/band combinations: news ×3, Learning Moment ×3, Portfolio ×5 and the band-setting Profile ×1, each in two bands. Every new combination has 360/393 px viewport and full reading captures. `contact-sheet.html` includes every new state at 360 px; **it is not yet the complete §7 sheet**.

The base runner passes 16 page/width combinations and the existing learning/mission/trading regressions. The checkpoint runner passes 48 new state/width checks and 57 interaction/value/default checks; ten rendered solid-colour text pairs pass AA (minimum 5.96:1). The static checker validates local links and 20 retained palette pairs. Reading evidence includes Content's own Netflix per-string gate and a separate draft interface-copy estimate. These do not certify child comprehension, screen readers or real devices.

Review Learning Moment and Portfolio before the next batch. On Aastha's yes, proceed to Sell by amount, retirement window, transaction history and Watchlist. A no returns this checkpoint for revision. No automatic schedule or outward message is created.

### Version control

## Company journey revision — Aastha’s focused review (11 October 2026)

Aastha redirected the next work to the company page and its connected learning surfaces. This supersedes the §14 suggestion to proceed to Sell/history/Watchlist. Those other checkpoints remain open. The operator requested the structure below explicitly; moving the four foundation questions into Chapter 1 is an operator-directed departure from brief §4’s inline question cards. Nothing here constitutes acceptance of the whole Test C journey or a production-engine change.

**Open:** `pages/company.html` (or `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html` while the local preview is running). `company-status.html` compares the supplied gain/loss/no-change values without changing the wallet. `contact-sheet.html` includes the company states in both bands at 360 px; evidence also covers 393 px.

### Identity, activities and illustrations

| Meaning | Main fill | Related fill | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netflix identity | deep red `#A90D24` | pink `#FFD8DE` | Hero, status, neutral company facts/news, saved watchlist |
| Learn | mint `#8CDFBB` | `#E4F7ED` | Both books, chapter pages, concepts, reading choices |
| Quizzes | yellow `#F3D258` | `#FFF6CC` | Next quiz, quiz statistic/library and quiz runner |
| Missions | lilac `#CEB5ED` | `#F2EAFA` | Suggested mission, library and question runner |
| Invest | peach `#F6B082` | `#FFF0E5` | Decision guide, amount/review/receipt and holding sheet |

KidStock blue remains site navigation and general controls. The company’s base hue is separate from action semantics. The Netflix red is darkened for readable white type; the exact red N remains the supplied original, upright in a white logo plate. `VOL. 002` was decorative, had no domain meaning and has been removed. Top back/save circles share the status strip’s light red. Selected bookmarks fill the mark and change the background/border as well as the label and `aria-pressed` state. Grey describes unavailable activity, with the reason in words; an activity that can be visited stays available.

The new supporting illustration family uses flat paper shapes, dark ink outlines, restrained shadows and one activity palette per drawing: book, concept card, question card and mission folder. These are native SVG interface illustrations, not generated substitute logos. Supplied company/mascot raster assets are preserved; the original product still-life is confined to the company arrival. The picture Logo Quest uses the original Netflix and Apple marks with equivalent readable descriptions. Its two-option treatment is a design example; Content still owns question/distractor acceptance. C5’s three quick-quiz options versus the brief’s four remains a recorded content/brief discrepancy.

### Page order and saved next step

Hero/status → idea in 20 seconds → next action → activity jump links → featured news → story/concepts → quiz row → mission row → Company ID/products → investment decision guide → watchlist.

The large CTA follows the child’s saved work: quick quiz, unread/resumable chapter, its quiz, eligible suggested mission, then the next chapter. A mission suggestion has a “Keep learning first” choice. No investment is required to finish the story. Quick quiz at any score still opens investing; missions still require the first company investment and remain available after sale. Suggestions are guidance, never a new eligibility gate. The next chapter book moves independently as soon as reading finishes; the quiz CTA still offers that chapter’s associated quiz.

The second book shows the next unlocked, unreviewed concept. Chapter 1 is Netflix basics: what the company does, how it earns, why the story matters, a surprising fact, the DVD/streaming history, and the risk of a new idea. Completing it opens Subscription and Risk. Later chapters open Profit, Expectations, Owning your product and Revenue. Reviewed concepts stay in their library; after the queue is clear the card says “All caught up” and offers free revisit. Reviewing does not create XP, money or a mastery requirement. This queue is a local design proposal, not an existing engine capability.

Quizzes have their own row: next eligible quiz on the left, unique questions explored and the library on the right. The statistic measures exposure, not correctness, and does not count a retake twice. Missions now have one recommendation/resume point plus one grouped library; the duplicate teaser cards are gone. Locked missions explain the first-investment condition, and their detail can be previewed without running the activity.

### News recommendation and current evidence

Keep the learning CTA stable. Show one separate featured story above learning; use the archive for other stories. Recommend one relevant active event first (company event, or a global event explicitly affecting this company); otherwise show the latest dated company story; show an honest empty state if neither exists. Do not use countdowns, urgency, a price rise or a purchase CTA to pressure a trade. Preserve the saved next step when a story is read.

The supplied C5 slice contains one Netflix practice-world event and one dated company-news item (21 Jan 2025), and both are used. The archive currently has exactly those two entries. No global-impact story, fresh current news, pagination or live feed is fabricated. The prototype consumes the first supplied event as the featured entry and falls back to the news entry/empty state; feed eligibility, ordering and expiry need an engine/content contract. For a larger archive, recommend latest three visible entries plus “Older stories”, with dates and source/reach labels. This pagination is a recommendation, not built on an invented dataset.

### Price, investment and learning

Before investment the status strip labels the authored **practice share price** (₹1,100). After buying it labels **Your holding is worth**. A sold holding returns to the share-price view with “Previously invested”; learning/mastery status is retained. Original cost belongs in the investment detail, separate from current value. Direction is both arrow and words, with its comparison period named. The working local ledger has no price ticks, so it truthfully shows no change. The shared status renderer is separately demonstrated with C5 holding samples ₹540 / ₹470 / ₹500 against a ₹500 purchase basis; those review examples never alter the wallet or purport to be live prices.

Pre-investment teaching should cover: how money comes in; what the company pays for; a reason the business might grow; a reason it might struggle; what could make customers leave; the difference between liking a product and choosing an investment; leaving room to explore other companies; and the legitimate choice to wait. The built decision aid contains short provisional examples of these ideas, a self-check, an explicit preview before committing virtual money, and a keep-learning choice. It uses no unsupported “safe”, low/medium/high risk rating, guaranteed return or buy/sell advice. Aastha will develop final investment content with the orchestrator.

Post-investment teaching should connect an actual later outcome to original cost/current worth, why it changed, a question to watch next, and a return to the child’s original reason for choosing. Existing Learning Moment samples cover the three signs; no immediate outcome is manufactured after purchase. The company section invites following news and explains that learning survives a loss or sale. A real holding-update link waits for an actual outcome contract.

### Pages, sheets and accessibility

Chapters, concepts and news now use the full `pages/learn.html` route, with a clear back/close action and chapter place saved per visit. Mission detail remains a full page. Short libraries and financial choices use native modal sheets: focus containment, Escape, close and return. Quiz rounds keep a focused native modal, saved answers, immediate explanation and a visible close. Each section inherits its own activity palette; no arbitrary colour per chapter. Company hub and reader narrative use the brief’s shared reading scale, with larger journal display type retained only for the hero.

Verification: **68 company views, 63 interaction/state assertions**, including 360/393 in both bands, six progress states, all six libraries, reader/concept/event, picture quiz, empty news, price-state gallery and desktop. No overflow, broken images, sub-44 px enabled targets, JavaScript errors or external requests in this scope. **26 rendered text colour pairs, minimum 5.68:1**. Original regression suite passes 16 views; the existing outcome/Portfolio checkpoint passes 48 views and 57 assertions. **524 static references pass**. C5’s checker passes **103 scored narrative strings per band**, zero failures; the existing short “Virtual money only. No real money.” warning remains in the younger band. This is a reading-formula/desktop-browser check, not child comprehension, screen-reader or physical-device certification.

Authoring: `company-body.html.inc`, `company.css`, `company.js` and `company-status.js`; `adapt-company.py` reads C5 without editing it and emits `company-content.js`; `render-pages.py` includes those assets and writes the reader route. `render-company-extras.py` preserves the focused index/contact-sheet review packet. The authoring rebuild was checked in a temporary copy. `verify-company.mjs` and `verify-company-copy.mjs` capture the new UI/state and grade inputs. Existing tests were updated for full-page reading, without removing the mission/reward/mastery/sale assertions.

## Palette and icon revision — 12 October 2026

Aastha supplied Karan's profile reference and the KidStock palette, then requested the palette throughout the prototype and a three-column company status strip. Merged `main` at `3d83bb2` first and read the central-company-list handoff. The published `child-voice/COMPANY-LIST.md` now supplies all 20 directory names and their order; the adapter records its path and SHA-256. Netflix, Apple and Starbucks remain the three companies to model in full. No company request was sent to Content; tentative replacement candidates are not substituted for the published roster.

`palette.css` is the shared final token/style layer on every delivered page. Learn uses Bright Mint, quizzes Sunny Yellow, missions Quest Purple and invest Cinema Coral. KidStock Blue serves general brand/navigation; Netflix retains red company identity. The supplied status and neutral colours are also recorded exactly. Light shades and gradients carry dark text; saturated colour supplies icon/edge accents. Neutral grey denotes unavailable actions. Text contrast is checked across gradient stops and intermediate blends, including the company and outcome suites.

`icon-language.js` supplies rounded native SVG illustrations with one light source, shaded edges, restrained highlights and soft shadows. Books, concepts, quizzes, missions and investment use a consistent family; five status designs distinguish discovery, watchlist, investment, previous investment and mastery. Navigation retains simple outlines and every decorative icon has an adjacent readable label. The actual company logo stays upright. This adapts the reference's dimensional language without adding a raster dependency.

The hero strip now shows **status icon + label | holding value | share price**. Holding and price movement have independent arrows, words and comparison periods. With no holding the middle says “Not invested yet”; after sale it says “No holding”. The working practice quote remains ₹1,100 with no invented market tick. The read-only gallery demonstrates seven states. Aastha's explicit request for two values overrides the earlier single-number density rule only in this company strip; outcome/Portfolio headlines retain their existing hierarchy.

Verification: palette suite **24 views / 30 assertions**, company suite **68 views / 63 assertions**, outcome/Portfolio suite **48 views / 57 assertions**, original regression **16 views**, all passing. Checks cover 360/393 widths, both bands in the journey suites, independent holding/price movements, central roster identity/order, overflow, images, enabled target size, text size and contrast. The final shared-palette change only alters a Home eyebrow's text colour after the wider regression. Browser and formula checks are not child-comprehension, screen-reader or physical-device certification. `verify-palette.mjs` adds its results to consolidated checks/contrast; `render-palette-review.py` preserves style/contact-sheet review sections.

### Solid activity colours — 12 October follow-up

Aastha rejected the activity gradients and requested bright solid shades. Activity cards, CTAs, headers, reader/dialog fills and review swatches now use solid mint #23F8B5, yellow #FFE447, purple #A78BFA and coral #FF6555. Related surfaces use solid tints; unavailable actions stay grey. The purple shade preserves readable dark text. Company/brand identity and dimensional illustration shading are unaffected. No interaction, content or engine changes. This supersedes the activity-gradient styling described earlier today.

### 15.2 · Separate clay icon direction — 12 October (resume here)

Aastha rejected the current icon family and requested a new harmonized clay direction with gradient and solid options to choose from. Created a separate nine-icon A/B comparison using the built-in image-generation tool. Both treatments share silhouettes, camera, soft upper-left light, matte material and semantic colours. A uses single pigments with natural shading; B adds controlled two-tone pigment blends. Recommend A for clear small-size use. The board is visual direction only: individual production exports and final-size checks follow selection. No company-page icon replacement or acceptance inferred.

Review `clay-family.html` or http://localhost:8765/clay-family.html. Image: `assets/clay-family-comparison-v1.png`; exact prompt: `clay-family-prompt.txt`. Visually reviewed the generated board for all nine labels, paired geometry, color mapping and material cohesion. Wait for Aastha's choice before applying the family. Existing palette and company functionality unchanged.

### 15.3 · Readable colour pairs and Style Tile icon choice — 12 October (resume here)

Aastha requested intentional text/background pairs, white or complementary text for the coral Home wallet, and the icon choice within Style Tile. The wallet now uses white #FFFFFF on deeper coral #D13B2D (4.80:1); its labels, amount, explanation, link and warning share that pairing. White on the original #FF6555 is only 2.90:1, so the deeper shade is necessary for normal text. Bright activity fills use complementary dark teal, brown, violet and coral ink. Activity fills remain solid.

Style Tile now includes the full-width clay A/B board near the top, two option descriptions and a full-size image link. The superseded icon grid has been removed from its palette panel. Six text/surface samples document the intended pairs. The separate comparison remains available; no icon choice inferred or applied. Review http://localhost:8765/style-tile.html#clay-options and http://localhost:8765/pages/home.html.

Verification: static references 575 pass; all 25 selected text pairs pass normal-text AA (minimum 4.76:1), with rendered palette and company checks saved in their existing JSON reports. Visually checked Home wallet. No content, reward, eligibility or engine changes. Rebuild via `render-palette-review.py` preserves the Style Tile additions.

### 15.4 · Gradient clay selected; exact bright palette — 12 October (resume here)

Aastha explicitly selected **B, gradient clay** and requested the exact supplied bright activity/status colours. Applied the selected family through `icon-language.js` across the prototype. Ten icons come from one transparent 5×2 atlas: book, question, flag, wallet, concept bulb, compass, bookmark, invested sprout/coins, mastery medal and previous-investment history. SVG viewports display each atlas cell without resampling/editing the generated raster. The shared material, rounded shapes, lighting and optical weight are preserved. The built-in image-generation tool produced the atlas using the chosen comparison as reference; the original remains untouched. Exact prompt: `clay-gradient-atlas-prompt.txt`; asset: `assets/clay-gradient-atlas-v1.png`.

Solid activity fills are exactly mint #23F8B5, yellow #FFE447, purple #8B5CF6 and coral #FF6555. In particular, lighter #A78BFA is no longer the mission surface and deeper #D13B2D is no longer the wallet fill. The wallet now uses complementary dark coral ink, honoring the latest exact-fill direction. Mission purple uses near-black violet #100820 (4.60:1), rather than muting the purple. All supplied status tokens/swatches remain exact; gain/loss arrows and correct/incorrect feedback use #22C55E/#EF4444 fills with dark readable labels. Company identity stays distinct. Activity backgrounds stay solid; gradients belong to the selected clay artwork.

Style Tile marks B as selected and displays the actual ten-icon family. The original comparison is retained in a collapsed reference; neither review page asks for the already-made choice. `render-palette-review.py` preserves this state. Corrected the new span wrapper in Home's Stories/Ideas grid, then visually reviewed Home and seven status states at mobile sizes.

Evidence: palette **24 views/30 assertions** and company **68 views/63 assertions** pass, no JS errors, broken images, overflow or enabled-target failures. **576 local references** and **25 selected contrast pairs** pass (minimum 4.60:1). Consolidated evidence and captures refreshed. Existing mechanics/content untouched. Remaining C5 migration, Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 scope are unchanged; resume company-page review, not another checkpoint.

### 15.5 · Playful text/colour combinations — 12 October (resume here)

Aastha requested colour-on-colour text in the Style Tile's “Text and colour work together” section, keeping bright Invest/coral and purple. Replaced technical swatches with six readable UI examples: KidStock Blue on Bright Mint/Sunny Yellow; mint on blue; rich indigo #241078 on exact Cinema Coral #FF6555; yellow and mint label panels with blue text on exact Quest Purple #8B5CF6. Label panels provide contrast without dulling the outer surface. No black/white-only assumption. These are Style Tile examples for review; no global flow or content changes.

Review http://localhost:8765/style-tile.html#text-colour. The scoped styles and `render-palette-review.py` preserve these examples. Static references 576 pass; 29 selected contrast pairs pass (minimum across retained/new pairs 4.60:1); palette runner 24 views/30 assertions passes. Visually reviewed `captures/playful-text-pairings.png`. Gradient clay remains selected.

### 15.6 · Icon crop repair and all-palette examples — 12 October (resume here)

Aastha showed neighboring icons leaking into the Style Tile crops. Root cause: the SVG viewBox maintained aspect ratio inside wider containers, leaving letterbox space where the rest of the atlas could paint; viewport overflow clipping alone did not bound the image to its source cell. Each rendered icon now has a uniquely identified `clipPath` in image coordinates. Source RGBA transparency is preserved; no opaque backplate is added to the icon. UI review cards have their own independent fill. Visually inspected all ten icons on light, dark and coral backgrounds, plus mobile.

New `verify-clay.mjs` renders all ten icons into transparent canvases at wide 240×130, tall 130×240 and small 55×55 dimensions. It tests actual pixel alpha for neighboring-image bleed, real transparency and visible artwork. All **30 checks pass, zero bleeding pixels**. Four proof captures and `captures/clay-crop-checks.json` are retained. The original generated atlas is unchanged.

While this repair was running, Aastha requested indigo pills with yellow text on the coral example and an example of every palette colour. Style Tile now derives its backgrounds directly from the existing canonical arrays: **all 8 primary, 6 status and 4 neutral colours**, exactly once each. A renderer assertion checks completeness. Cinema Coral has indigo #241078 pills with Sunny Yellow #FFE447 lettering. No extra app flows or global colour changes introduced.

Evidence: 576 static references, 37 selected text pairs (minimum 4.60:1), 24 palette views/30 assertions pass. The complete gallery was visually reviewed in `captures/playful-text-pairings.png`. Review http://localhost:8765/style-tile.html#clay-options and #text-colour. Shared renderer fix applies wherever the family is used. Resume company-page/style review; existing content and broader checkpoint gaps remain unchanged.

## Clay navigation and Netflix banner — 12 October 2026

Aastha supplied a raised-clay navigation reference and asked for KidStock blue behind five tabs. Navigation now uses #3E28E0 with small grayscale clay icons for inactive tabs; the current tab returns to colour, grows, rises and tilts across the blue bar's upper edge. A 430 ms tap transition lets the object settle before following the existing link. Ordinary anchors remain the fallback; modified clicks retain browser behavior; keyboard activation works; reduced-motion mode skips animation and delay. Labels stay readable (minimum measured contrast 5.87:1) and the selected tab also has an underline and `aria-current`. A reserved white strip gives the raised art space clear of the page copy.

Home and Profile extend the selected gradient-clay family with a two-cell transparent atlas. Discover, Missions and Portfolio reuse the existing compass, flag and wallet. The original ten-icon atlas and explicit crop boundaries remain intact. New artwork and its exact built-in image-generation prompt are committed locally. No remote asset dependency.

Netflix's logo is now left of the complete heading block (Company Journal, Inside Netflix, tagline), with its original red/white brand colours retained. The wording “color model” was queried as potentially “column”; the reversible column interpretation is implemented, with colour feedback still pending. No product copy, rewards, content snapshot or progress IDs changed.

Evidence: navigation 12 views / 43 assertions at 360 and 393 px; all five routes, raised-state geometry, keyboard, reduced motion, back navigation and watchlist persistence pass, no JS errors. Company regression 68 views / 63 assertions, palette 24 views / 30 assertions and original clay alpha/crop 30 checks pass. The final nav spacing adjustment was then covered by the navigation rerun; those larger suites preceded that isolated spacing change. Review: `navigation-review.html`, `pages/company.html`, `captures/navigation-checks.json`. These remain browser checks, not child testing or physical-device certification.

Tooling: refreshed installed `browser-use@openai-bundled` 0.1.0-alpha2 through `codex plugin add`; confirmed its existing enabled state. The required browser execution tool remains absent from this running session, so verification used the installed Playwright package and local Chrome. No substitute cloud connector or credential access.

## Pop palette and clearer value cards — 12 October 2026 (current)

Aastha’s latest image **supersedes the earlier 18-colour board and the blue nav specification**. Canonical UI palette now lives in `palette-spec.json`: Purple #8400FF, Pink #FF00A1, Lime #90FE00, Cyan #00F5FF, Yellow #FFE600, Orange #FF7300, Growth Green #22E274, Fall Red #FF4B4B; White #FFFFFF, Navy #0B1220, Light Gray #F3F4F6, Soft Cream #FFF9EE. The Style Tile shows all 12 exactly once. Roles: purple primary/nav/missions, pink quizzes, lime learning, cyan exploration/price, orange investment, yellow highlights. Netflix’s own red identity is retained. Gradient-clay artwork stays selected; solid UI fills use the new board.

Text uses the readable combinations supplied on the board: lime/white/yellow on purple, purple on lime/yellow/cream, navy on pink/cyan/orange/green/red. The illustrated yellow-on-pink (2.87:1) and white-on-orange (2.73:1) examples do not meet the brief’s normal-text contrast rule; navy alternatives from the same board are applied. Latest selected solid pairs: 20, minimum 4.53:1; nav labels minimum 4.78:1. Hover now preserves each activity’s fill/foreground pairing.

**Netflix status:** one compact clay status badge above two aligned cards. The holding sits on cream; share price sits on cyan. The price remains ₹1,100 in the working snapshot. Arrow and percentage are on the next line, in a compact chip; the redundant “No change at this snapshot” sentence is removed. Nonzero sample moves use arrows, signed values and green/red chips. Holding change is in ₹ against purchase basis; share-price change is % against the previous quote, each with a separate period when meaningful. The operator’s request authorizes percentage in this status component only; the Learning Moment’s density/working rules are unchanged. Missing/zero previous-price basis hides the percentage rather than inventing one. No new market ticks or engine claims.

**Fresh verification of this final palette/status revision:** static 20 contrast pairs and all local links pass; company 68 views / 63 assertions; palette/status 24 views / 36 assertions; existing reflection states 48 width/band views / 57 interactions; nav 12 views / 43 assertions. No JS errors, broken images, overflow, target-size or rendered contrast failures in these runs. Checks include signed percentage maths, movement below price, independent holding/share directions, no snapshot sentence, keyboard, reduced motion, back navigation and preserved watchlist. Original atlas 30 crop checks passed after adding the Home/Profile companion atlas; original sprite logic is unchanged by the palette update. Baseline 16-view captures are historical, not a fresh full-brief certification.

Visually inspected the final 12-colour gallery, Netflix header/status, the opposite-movement sample and the nav transition. Review `navigation-review.html`, `style-tile.html#text-colour`, `pages/company.html` and `company-status.html`. All artifact paths are listed in `deliverables.txt`; this continuation’s changed files are listed in `revision-2026-10-12-nav-palette-files.txt`.

Browser plugin setup: supported installer refreshed `browser-use@openai-bundled` 0.1.0-alpha2. It is installed/enabled, but this running session still has no browser execution tool. Checks used existing local Playwright/Chrome. No unsupported runtime/config workaround was installed.

**Continue with operator review.** This implements the nav, banner, new status layout and supplied palette; it is not whole-Test-C acceptance. C5 six-chapter/twelve-kind migration, full Apple/Starbucks, final investment teaching and remaining brief §7 states are still open. No content-lane or application edits, no merge back/push/publication.

## Company correction · 12 October 2026 (session §20)

Aastha rejected the §19 status-card redesign and clarified that the Netflix instruction meant flipping columns, not changing colours or text order. This section supersedes §19's company layout and cyan/price role; the supplied general pop palette remains current.

Restored a compact, three-column status strip in Netflix's pale red (`--company-light`, #FFD8DE), with dark red text throughout. Discovered no longer has a cyan badge, and holding/share price no longer have separate cream/cyan cards. Arrow and percentage remain below the share price; the redundant snapshot sentence remains removed. Header: Netflix logo in column one, the original Company Journal → Inside / Netflix → tagline stack in column two. Restored the original tagline's natural wrapping, title scale and smaller logo; no company colours or wording changed. Removed added CSS icon drop shadows and the logo's offset shadow; retained the selected clay artwork and nav motion.

Fresh checks: navigation 12 views / 43 assertions; palette/status 24 views / 36 assertions; 656 links and 20 selected contrast pairs pass (minimum 4.53:1). Visually inspected both 360 and 393 px company captures and refreshed status/transition evidence. No overflow, broken images, rendered contrast failures or JavaScript errors in those runs. Existing company/content/reflection regression reports predate this isolated presentation correction; no content/state logic changed and no full-brief completion is claimed.

Review http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html and `navigation-review.html`. Changed-path inventory: `revision-2026-10-12-company-correction-files.txt`. Continue with Aastha's review; no acceptance inferred. C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks, investment teaching and remaining §7 scope remain open. Same Test C ceiling, local commit only; no merge back, push or publication.

## Three Style Tile text corrections · 12 October 2026

Aastha explicitly corrected three Style Tile text/background pairs: **yellow #FFE600 on pink #FF00A1; white #FFFFFF on orange #FF7300; white #FFFFFF on fall red #FF4B4B**. Applied in canonical `palette-spec.json` v3 and the generated Style Tile, including the tile headings, samples and pairing labels. This overrides §19's navy substitutions for these three review tiles. Other page text roles and §20's company identity correction are unchanged.

Local Chrome verified all three computed text/background pairs; gallery visually inspected and gallery/360/393 captures refreshed. Evidence: `captures/tile-pair-corrections.json`. These exact operator-directed pairings are below 4.5:1 normal-text contrast, so the earlier statement that every Style Tile pairing meets that threshold was removed. Earlier all-pass palette evidence predates these three corrections; this checkpoint confirms exact requested colour rendering, not a fresh contrast pass.

Continue Style Tile/company review with Aastha. Full C5/Apple/Starbucks/remaining §7 work remains open. Same Test C authority ceiling; local branch checkpoint only.

## Text pairings across pages · 12 October 2026

Aastha asked whether the three corrected pairings had reached the rest of the pages. They had previously been applied only to the Style Tile. Now propagated through shared page styles: yellow #FFE600 on pink quiz surfaces/buttons; white #FFFFFF on orange wallet, investment and news surfaces; white on fall-red incorrect-answer and down-status fills. Foreground tokens and specific component overrides agree. Netflix company identity and text on cream/white panels remain unchanged.

Fresh local Chrome audit: **80 rendered page/state/width views, 226 text instances on the three target fills, zero mismatched foregrounds, overflow or JavaScript errors**. Covered all eleven page routes, checkpoint gain/loss/flat and age-band samples at 360/393, quiz question/answer feedback, quiz/investment libraries and a fall-status sample. Visually inspected quiz feedback and the Home wallet captures. Evidence: `captures/page-pair-corrections.json` and `captures/pairs-*.png`. This checks faithful application of the operator's pairings; the below-4.5:1 contrast limitation recorded in §21 still applies. Earlier blanket contrast-pass reports are historical.

Continue operator review. C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks journeys and remaining §7 work remain open. Test C scope and ceiling unchanged; local commit only, no merge back or push.

## Individual nav icons and Discover options · 12 October 2026

Aastha finalized the **Home house, Missions flag, Portfolio wallet and Profile bust designs** and requested more stock/exchange-oriented Discover options, five distinct icon colours, no shadows, and individual usable assets. Preserve those four approved forms; Discover selection remains open.

Built-in image generation produced eight individual **1254 × 1254 RGBA PNGs**, saved unchanged under `assets/nav-clay-v2/`: `home-cyan.png`, `missions-purple.png`, `portfolio-orange.png`, `profile-pink.png`, and four green Discover options: **A market screen, B share stack, C exchange hall, D trading loop**. Original approved forms guided extraction/recolour; Portfolio is orange, Profile pink, Home cyan and Missions purple. Each asset has real alpha, unclipped visible silhouette and no visible ground/cast shadow; only internal clay form shading remains. Exact prompts: `nav-icon-generation-prompts.json`; metadata and all-eight-PNG ZIP beside the assets. Original atlases are retained for activity/status icons.

Review at **http://localhost:8765/nav-icon-options.html**: five-colour lineup, all four Discover alternatives, live nav preview, individual PNG downloads and the ZIP. Recommend A for the small-size stock-chart silhouette. **A is provisionally previewed in the prototype, not operator-selected as final.** The review buttons let Aastha compare alternatives without claiming approval. All prototype navs now consume individual PNGs. Inactive icons remain small and muted but retain their own hues (the previous grayscale filter made different source colours look identical). Pop/tilt, keyboard, reduced motion and route behavior retained; no CSS shadows added.

Fresh evidence: nav regression **12 views / 43 assertions**, minimum nav label contrast 4.78:1; Discover review **33 assertions** across 1400, 393 and 360 px; eight RGBA/margin inspections. No missing assets, horizontal overflow or JS errors in those browser runs. All **690 local links pass**. The combined static script still exits nonzero solely for the three operator-requested text/background pairs from §§21–22 (minimum 2.73:1); current contrast report records this honestly. Visually inspected all generated assets, corrected desktop comparison layout and the company/nav screenshot. Other content/company suites are earlier evidence, not a fresh full-brief pass.

**Next:** Aastha chooses Discover A/B/C/D; then pin that asset across navs. Four other icon forms are final. Broader C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and remaining §7 work remain open. Same Test C ceiling; local commit only, no merge back, push or publication. Browser execution tool still unavailable; existing local Chrome/Playwright used for checks.

## Final Discover and nav states · 12 October 2026

Aastha selected **Discover C, the exchange building**, and directed **Discover pink / Profile lime**. This resolves §23's open icon choice. Home cyan, Missions purple and Portfolio orange remain the other three final designs/colours. Built-in image editing recoloured only C and the profile bust, using their individual v2 PNGs as edit targets; exact prompts in `nav-icon-final-prompts.json`. Final five individual RGBA assets and ZIP: `assets/nav-clay-v3/`. The other three PNGs were copied unchanged. v2 alternatives remain historical.

User explicitly reversed the last inactive-colour treatment: **all inactive icons are now grayscale; only the selected icon carries colour**. Active label and underline share its colour family: cyan Home, pale pink Discover, lavender Missions, apricot Portfolio, lime Profile. Highlight tints keep nav labels readable on purple (minimum measured 4.53:1). With no selection, all icons and labels are neutral and no underline appears. No cast/CSS shadows added. Nav uses equal-width tab columns and consistent icon/label rows; minimum inactive icon-box-to-label gap is 7.81 px at tested sizes. Raised tilt/pop motion retained.

`nav-icon-options.html` now reviews the **final set**, with selectable nav tabs and a “Show none selected” control; earlier green alternatives sit in a collapsed history section. Mobile preview spans the actual viewport width to avoid squeezing its labels. The prototype uses the pink exchange and lime profile on every nav.

Fresh checks: nav **12 views / 43 assertions**, final-state review **72 assertions / 15 selected states plus three all-grey states** at 1400, 393 and 360 px. Verified correct PNGs, active colour/underline match, grayscale inactivity, spacing, keyboard and reduced motion; no broken images, overflow or JS errors. Inspected all five selected captures and the all-grey capture. **690 links pass**. Combined static script still exits nonzero solely for the three previously operator-directed text contrast pairs (minimum 2.73:1); this is recorded, not hidden. Other application/content suites are earlier evidence.

**Continue company/style review with Aastha. No icon choice remains pending.** C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and remaining §7 work remain open. Same Test C ceiling; local commit only, no merge back or push. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; local Chrome/Playwright used for evidence.

## Floating navigation and Aaira’s Netflix journal · 12 October 2026

Aastha requested a **floating nav**, a transparent area above its painted dock, similar inactive grey tones, a paired background for each active icon, and an all-grey no-selection state. She also supplied Aaira’s Netflix/Starbucks reference images and PF Reminder font files under `raw/client-kidstock/aaira-test-c`, and asked for the company page to follow that illustration direction.

**Nav shared across all prototype routes:** 12 px side insets and 14 px bottom clearance (safe-area aware); all four corners rounded. The outer nav is transparent, so content remains visible around the raised icon. Desktop docks stay within the phone frame; mobile docks float within the viewport. Extra scroll space keeps bottom actions reachable. Approved v3 PNG forms/colours remain unchanged: Home cyan, Discover exchange C pink, Missions purple, Portfolio orange, Profile lime. Active icon rises/tilts; label and underline share its colour family. Background pairs: Home navy `#0B1220`, Discover pale yellow `#FFF3AE`, Missions pale lime `#DBFFAF`, Portfolio cream `#FFF0DD`, Profile purple `#8400FF`. No-selection fill is grey `#E3E4E7`, with all-grey icons/text. A grayscale + compressed-contrast display filter normalizes the five source colours: measured mean grey spread **13.07/255**, no RGB channel difference. No icon shadows added. Review all five pairs and none at `http://localhost:8765/nav-icon-options.html`.

**Netflix journal:** Aaira’s newer illustrated reference supersedes the earlier logo-left/heading-right composition. PF Reminder headings (three supplied OTF weights copied unchanged into `assets/fonts/`); white “Inside” / yellow “Netflix.” on the red hero; organic purple/cyan background shapes; a cinema chair/popcorn/remote illustration on the right. Rounded pale pink status retains movement below the share price and omits the redundant no-change snapshot line. Status icon is tinted toward Netflix’s red family. Cyan business idea card with clapperboard artwork and an operable highlighted glossary term; four pastel “What They Do” cards; illustrated story CTA. Existing learning, quiz, mission, watchlist and investment controls/progress are retained. This company adaptation is **Netflix only**; Starbucks was reviewed as a visual reference, not implemented as a full journey.

Six individual **1254 × 1254 RGBA PNGs** generated using built-in `image_gen`, saved unchanged in `assets/company-clay-v1/`: cinema chair, clapperboard, TV/shows, members, globe, film reel/content. The reel is reused in the story CTA. Exact prompts and source references: `company-illustration-prompts.json`; asset metadata and ZIP beside the PNGs. Raw source images/fonts remain untouched. Native SVG/CSS supplies only background shapes and layout, not substitute raster illustrations.

**Fresh evidence:** nav routes **12 views / 43 assertions**; preview **90 assertions / 15 selected states plus three none states** at 1400/393/360; journal/floating checks **23 assertions** at 360/393/1440, including loaded PF Reminder, status layout, reachable bottom action and grey measurements. Minimum nav label contrast **4.78:1**; minimum inactive icon-box/label gap **7.81 px**. Existing company suite: **68 views / 63 interaction assertions**, no overflow, broken images, small targets, JavaScript errors or network requests. It remains a contrast failure solely for the three operator-directed pairs: yellow/pink 2.87, white/orange 2.73, white/fall-red 3.30. The audit also caught and fixed old yellow number text on cream/disabled quiz-library cards; those now use navy. **709 local links pass**; combined static script still exits nonzero for the same three known contrast pairs. This is not an all-contrast or full-brief pass. Final journal screenshots also verify the refined glossary highlight after the company suite. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; local Chrome/Playwright supplied the checks.

**Resume:** continue the company/style review with Aastha at `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html`. No icon choice is pending. Full C5/six-chapter/twelve-kind migration, Apple/Starbucks journeys and remaining brief §7 work stay open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C authority ceiling: prototype/notes only, local checkpoint commit, no merge back, push, application edits or publication.

## Compact navigation and four finish options · 12 October 2026

Aastha asked for floating-nav styling alternatives: glass, a complete clay treatment, fixed light grey and fixed dark grey. She also asked for a shorter bar, a larger selected icon closer to its text, brighter colour pairings and sharper inactive grey icons.

**Review four finishes at `http://localhost:8765/nav-style-options.html`.** The page has independent working navs, controls to compare the same tab across all four, a no-selection state, and “Try on Netflix” links. Glass uses translucent neutral frosting with backdrop blur, so page colours show through. Clay uses a sculpted gradient/bevel on the bar only; Discover uses vivid `#FFE600` instead of pale yellow, Missions uses brighter lime, and the lime Profile gets deeper purple for contrast. Light grey stays `#E7E8EB`; dark grey stays `#292B30`, regardless of the active tab. Active labels/underlines use readable shades from the icon family. All icons remain grey when inactive, with no icon shadows. The glass no-selection backdrop is desaturated too. A finish can be previewed on real routes via `?navFinish=glass|clay|light|dark`; nav links preserve this preview parameter. **No finish has been operator-selected.** Recommendation: light grey for consistency; clay for the most playful treatment.

**Shared compact geometry is applied across the prototype:** painted face **94 → 72 px** (23% shorter), outer nav **120 → 88 px**, selected icon **70 px** at rest (previously 56 px scaled to 62.72), inactive icon **42 px** at rest (previously scaled to 36.96). Selected icon-box/label gap is **3.00 px**, inactive gap **4 px**; actual artwork includes its transparent margins. The selected icon pulses upward, tilts and settles close to the label. Inactive icons render at direct integer dimensions without a resting scale transform. Restoring contrast from `.1` to `.85` preserves their clay shading; per-icon brightness calibration holds the measured mean greys within **8.50/255**, with zero RGB channel differences. Existing high-resolution transparent PNGs are unchanged; no new raster generation or image editing was needed. Transparent upper region, floating insets, keyboard links and reduced motion remain.

**Fresh checks:** material review **72 views / 214 assertions** (four finishes × six states × 1200/393/360 widths, including independent/keyboard selection, pulse/reduced motion, real-route preview and route persistence); computed material contrast **120 label cases**, minimum **4.536:1**, including gradient interpolation and glass composited over black/white backdrop bounds (bevel-border highlights excluded). Shared routes **12 views / 43 assertions**, original icon review **90 assertions**, journal/floating check **23 assertions**. No overflow, broken images or JS errors in those checks; bottom company actions remain reachable. **748 local links pass**. Combined static script still exits nonzero for the three previously selected application text pairs (yellow/pink, white/orange, white/fall-red), minimum 2.73; the new nav material labels pass. The full company interaction suite is §25 evidence, not rerun for this nav-only pass. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; local Chrome/Playwright supplied verification. Screenshots: `captures/nav-finishes-{1200,393,360}.png` plus each finish/state at 393. Reproducible checks: `verify-nav-finishes.mjs`, `verify-nav-finish-contrast.mjs`.

**Next:** Aastha reviews and chooses a finish; apply the chosen finish as default only after that choice. Continue company/style review. Broader C5/six-chapter/twelve-kind migration, full Apple/Starbucks and remaining brief §7 work remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and notes only, local commit, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits.

## Sticky-note idea and selected glass capsule · 12 October 2026

Aastha selected **option 1 Glass** and asked for a smaller capsule, a distinct sticky-note big idea, tight marker highlight, a chapter spine, left-aligned card icons with more padding, no icon shadows, removal of the duplicate illustrated Learn link, and a 2×2 What They Do grid.

**Implemented:** the Netflix big idea is pale pink paper on a red surround with yellow tape and marker underline; its existing clapperboard PNG is byte-for-byte unchanged. The yellow subscription highlight hugs the text (under one line-height), while its glossary button retains a 44 px hit area. What They Do has two rows of two left-aligned tiles. The extra “A business behind your watch list” link is removed; the existing Learn jump and learning controls remain. Chapter card has a 7 px deeper-lime spine; Concepts retains its deeper-cyan spine when active and neutral disabled styling. Book, quiz and mission artwork now starts on the copy's content edge, with increased card padding. Shared Home/activity/wallet cards receive the same alignment treatment; the old Home quiz-card tilt is removed to keep its content edge straight.

**Activity assets:** four individual 1254 × 1254 RGBA PNGs generated with built-in image_gen: purple story book, yellow concept bulb, cyan quiz bubble, lime mission flag. The orange investment wallet is copied unchanged from the approved navigation asset. All five are under `assets/activity-clay-v2/`, with manifest and ZIP; exact generation prompts are in `activity-icon-prompts.json`. These replace the older shadowed activity-atlas crops across consumers. No cast or CSS shadows are added to these icons; internal clay form shading remains. Status atlas remains for status symbols. Approved five nav PNGs are unchanged.

**Glass is now the default on all prototype routes**, resolving §26’s pending material choice. Capsule radius 999 px; painted face **66 px**, outer nav **82 px**; inactive icons **36 px**, selected **58 px**. Selected resting rise is 23 px with a 4° tilt, peak rise 28 px; measured icon-box/label gap is 3.01 px, inactive gap 4 px. A refined translucent neutral gradient, 22 px backdrop blur and fine rim supply the glass effect. Bar-only shadow is retained; icons have none. All-grey inactivity, consistent grey calibration, transparent upper area, safe floating insets, keyboard and reduced motion remain. Other finishes remain available only as explicit comparison previews through `?navFinish=`.

**Fresh evidence:** focused sticky/capsule audit **46 assertions**, including all **11 routes at 360/393 px**, plus company layout at 360/393/1440, 2×2 geometry, chapter spine, icon alignment, tight highlight/44 px target and working glossary. No overflow, missing images, icon CSS shadows or JS errors. Company regression **68 views / 63 interaction assertions** has no geometry, missing-image, target, JS or network issues; it still fails contrast solely for the three earlier operator-selected text pairs: yellow/pink **2.87**, white/orange **2.73**, white/fall-red **3.30**. Shared nav **12 views / 43 assertions**, icon review **90**, material review **72 views / 214 assertions**, journal/floating **26**, and **120 material label contrast cases** pass (minimum **4.801:1**). Grey means span 8.50/255 with zero RGB channel difference. **746 local links pass**; static audit exits nonzero for the same three known palette exceptions. This is not a full-brief or all-contrast pass. New assets and 360/393 company/Home captures visually inspected. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; existing local Chrome/Playwright supplied verification.

**Review:** `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html`; selected capsule comparison at `http://localhost:8765/nav-style-options.html`. Continue Aastha’s company/style review; no material or icon choice is pending. Full C5/six-chapter/twelve-kind migration, full Apple/Starbucks journeys and remaining brief §7 scope remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and own notes only, local checkpoint commit, no merge back, push, publication, application or raw edits. Complete changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-sticky-glass-files.txt`.

## Softer paper and revised note composition · 12 October 2026

Aastha compared the first sticky-note treatment against the reference and found the paper/tape too stiff, the headline too small, and the composition unresolved. She suggested moving the existing illustration to the upper right beside the eyebrow/title.

Reworked only the big-idea note: native decorative SVG paths give the pink paper gently bowed edges and an irregular lower edge, with a thin layered rim and subtle paper depth. Tape now has a warm yellow surface gradient, faint directional texture and softly raised edge. The supplied PF Reminder headline increases from 30/34 px to **39/43 px** at 360/393 widths. “Great / shows.” sits left of the existing upper-right clapperboard; “A monthly fee.” runs across the next line with a hand-drawn marker stroke. The explanatory paragraph now uses the full content width underneath. Eyebrow uses the handwritten face in two compact lines. Tight subscription highlight and its 44 px operable glossary target are retained. Existing clapperboard PNG is unchanged; no new raster generation or icon shadow. Nav, card/grid treatment, content/progress and status are unchanged from §27.

Focused local Chrome inspection at **360, 393 and 1440 px** passes: no horizontal overflow, no text/illustration rectangle collisions, full-width body copy, larger headline, intact 44 px glossary target, working glossary open/close and no JS errors. Illustration-box to monthly-fee line-box clearance is 9.78/16.59 px; text ranges also checked. Captures: `captures/wavy-note-{360,393,1440}.png` and matching `wavy-note-context-*`; measurements in `captures/wavy-note-checks.json`. 360/393 note screenshots visually compared to the operator’s reference. `git diff --check` passes. Earlier company/nav suites and the three known palette contrast exceptions remain §27 evidence; not rerun for this isolated decorative/layout correction. No new approval or whole-design acceptance inferred.

Review `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html`. Continue the company/style review with Aastha. Same Test C ceiling and open C5/Apple/Starbucks/brief §7 work; no merge back, push, publication, application/raw edits or `adapt-company.py` regeneration. Full revision manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-wavy-note-files.txt`.

## Corrected paper edges and tilted composition · 12 October 2026

Aastha corrected §28’s interpretation: the paper top must be straight, its sides only gently bowed and its bottom slightly waved; eyebrow/headline must span the note; illustration may cross the pink/red boundary at the left of the description; text should share the reference’s slight tilt.

Revised the decorative paper path with a straight top segment, restrained long side curves and a single shallow bottom wave. Paper and copy share a **−3° tilt**. The full-width eyebrow reads **THE BIG IDEA**; headline is back to **Great shows. / A monthly fee.**, one uninterrupted line per phrase, at 45 px on 360 and 49 px on 393/desktop. The unchanged clapperboard now overlaps the lower-left pink paper edge and red surround alongside the description; no illustration in the heading region. The description sits to its right. Existing tape, marker underline and tight subscription highlight are retained. No new raster asset, content/progress change, nav or other-card edit.

Focused local Chrome review at **360, 393 and 1440 px** passes: no horizontal overflow or text/illustration rectangle collision; full-width eyebrow, unbroken headline phrases, matching text/paper tilt, straight top path, correct left-edge overlap and operable glossary with at least a 44 px target. No JS errors. Screenshots at `captures/note-edge-{360,393,1440}.png` and matching `note-edge-context-*`; measurements in `captures/note-edge-checks.json`. 360/393 crops visually inspected against the operator’s supplied reference. `git diff --check` passes. Earlier full company/nav suites and the three known palette contrast exceptions remain §27 evidence, not rerun for this isolated note correction. No design acceptance inferred.

Review `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html` and continue Aastha’s company/style review. Same Test C ceiling; broader C5/Apple/Starbucks/brief §7 work remains open. Local checkpoint only, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Revision file manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-note-edge-files.txt`.

## Status alternatives and compact idea layout · 12 October 2026

Aastha requested status-layout alternatives: equal outer columns, a slightly wider investment centre, status plus district in column one, investment in column two, pricing in column three, coloured numeric values and no overlap with the banner. She also requested a shorter big-idea composition; her latest steering moves THE BIG IDEA **inside the second column, above the title** (superseding the earlier full-width eyebrow row in this turn).

**Big idea implemented:** a 1:2 illustration/title row, with the unchanged clapperboard overflowing the paper on the left; the uppercase eyebrow now sits above the headline in the right column, centred within that column and in the page’s Nunito bold eyebrow font. The full description occupies the next row. Straight paper top, gentle side/bottom curves, tape, −3° tilt and tight glossary highlight remain. At 393 px the captured note is **352 px tall versus 441 px** in §29 (89 px shorter). No raster generation or image edit; clapperboard bytes match the previous commit.

**Review three status options at `http://localhost:8765/status-style-options.html`:** A, a flat pale Netflix-red strip with red share price and purple holding value; B, a white divided row without a status illustration and both values in Netflix red; C, three compact panels with pale-red outer cells and a pale-purple investment centre. All use **1 : 1.3 : 1** column widths, include Entertainment below the company status, and sit below the banner with no overlap or negative margin. Uninvested helper filler is hidden to reduce height; the primary investment state remains. Price and holding directions/bases stay independent; value colour identifies the value, rather than indicating gain/loss. Existing arrow/change colours remain. The status HTML accepts an escaped district parameter, defaulting to Entertainment for the current Netflix fixture.

The comparison control offers Discovered, Watching, Invested (opposite holding/price directions), loss, Previously invested and Mastered without touching wallet storage. Each option links to its real company preview through `?statusStyle=strip|line|panels`. **A is provisionally shown on the main page, not selected as final by Aastha.** Recommendation: start with A for company identity and continuity, with B as the quieter alternative. An optional A/B/C preference question was presented; no answer at checkpoint. The status-state gallery is updated to the same column structure and links to the new comparison.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-status-styles.mjs` passes **160 assertions / 54 option-state-width views** (3 options × 6 states × 360/393/1280), plus all 3 live styles at 360/393/1440. It checks equal outer columns, wider centre, district fit, no banner overlap, independent value movements, untouched wallet storage, no overflow/JS errors, 1:2 idea row, eyebrow in the title column above the headline, full-width description beneath, no text/art collisions and working glossary. New company, note and option screenshots are in `captures/`; `captures/status-style-checks.json` holds the measured evidence. All **757 local links pass**. Static contrast still fails for the three previously selected palette pairs (minimum 2.73), unchanged; this is not an all-contrast or full-brief pass. Full company/nav suites remain earlier evidence and were not repeated for this presentation-only change. `git diff --check` passes; 360/393 note and all three invested-state options visually inspected. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; existing local Chrome/Playwright supplied verification.

**Resume:** review status A/B/C and continue company/style iteration with Aastha at `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html`. No final status choice inferred. C5 migration, complete Apple/Starbucks and remaining brief §7 work remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype/own notes only; local checkpoint, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-status-options-files.txt`.

## Selected white row and invested content options · 12 October 2026

Aastha selected **B, the white divided row**, removed its bottom divider, and requested internal content options using an invested example. The three headings are **Status, Investment, Price**. Her final clarification is binding: **Status has exactly two values below it—the current stage (Discovered, Invested, Mastered, etc.) and district**. No separate ownership/mastery row or District heading. Existing stage precedence remains unchanged.

**Implemented:** B is the live company default and the status-state gallery treatment. Its bottom border is gone; quiet vertical dividers and the 1 : 1.3 : 1 column proportions remain. The first column contains the single Status heading, stage and Entertainment; the other two headings are Investment and Price. Comparison preview frames also omit the bottom rule. No big-idea or nav change in this checkpoint.

**Compare three internal layouts at `http://localhost:8765/status-content-options.html`:** 1, Clear labels—left-aligned information and Netflix-red values; 2, Centered values—centred information, a red stage pill and navy amounts; 3, Colour accents—a pale-red stage badge, purple investment amount, red price, green/fall-red change pills. The page starts **invested**, showing **₹540** current investment value (up ₹40 since purchase) and **₹1,034** share price (down 6% this world day). State controls also compare loss, Mastered, Previously invested, Discovered and Watching. Fixtures leave wallet storage untouched. Try links use `?statusContent=labels|centered|badges`; the older material comparison now records B as selected and links to this new review.

**B is selected; the internal content layout is still open.** The live page shows the basic left-aligned layout while Aastha compares 1/2/3. Recommendation: 1 for direct scanning; 2 for balanced presentation; 3 for a more playful use of colour. No internal-layout approval inferred. No new raster assets or added icon shadows. Display wording and CSS changed; the quote, holding, reward, eligibility and progress calculations did not.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-status-content.mjs` passes **269 assertions / 54 comparison views** at 360/393/1280 (3 layouts × 6 states × 3 widths), plus the real company previews. Checks include selected B as default, no bottom rule/overlap, equal outer columns and wider centre, aligned Status/Investment/Price headings, exactly two first-column values, correct invested numbers and independent directions, unchanged fixture wallet storage, Mastered stage on live previews and existing stage persistence when holding changes, no overflow or JS errors. Final invested captures for all three options visually inspected. Verification resumed successfully after the interruption stopped the local server; it is running again on 8765. All **767 local links pass**. Static contrast still exits nonzero for the three prior operator-selected pairs (minimum 2.73); white on fall red in option 3 remains part of that known exception. This is not an all-contrast or full-brief pass. Earlier full company/nav suites were not rerun; the existing company assertions were updated to the new headings. `git diff --check` passes.

**Resume:** compare 1/2/3 at the new review page and continue company/style iteration. B’s material choice is resolved; content-layout choice remains pending. C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and remaining brief §7 stay open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype/own notes only, local checkpoint commit, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-status-content-files.txt`.

## Selected layout, retained colours and Exchange rows · 12 October 2026

Aastha selected **content option 1, Clear labels** within the already-selected B white row. She directed STATUS / INVESTMENT / PRICE headings in the page’s uppercase eyebrow style; two equal-height inner Status rows (icon + mastery-stage label, icon + district); movement-coloured amounts; zero-change values retaining their last movement colour; green starting/listing-day prices at 0%; and the compact rounded arrow badges from option 1. She also directed the stage row to inherit Missions purple and every district label to inherit Discover/Exchange pink, and renamed the **Discover navigation tab to Exchange**. Her final request is to compare icon rows, squarish pills and capsule pills within that same selected layout.

**Review `http://localhost:8765/status-row-options.html`.** It opens invested, with **₹540 green / +₹40** and **₹1,034 orange / −6%**. Three treatments share the same columns and values: 1, Icons—two icon/label rows; 2, Squarish pills—purple/pink soft-fill badges with 6 px corners and no icons; 3, Capsule pills—the same inherited colours with fully rounded badges and no icons. Each Status row is at least 44 px high; the two rows share equal height even for Previously invested. The headings use Nunito 900, 14 px and .075em tracking, matching the page’s eyebrow style. Two Status values remain exactly the current stage and district. The stage and district inks come from shared Missions/Exchange role colours in `shared.css` (#6900CC purple, #A40068 pink); icons are tinted to those families. These rules select semantic classes, not the literal Entertainment label. Existing atlas symbols supply stage icons; the existing shadow-free TV illustration supplies the current Entertainment district icon. No new raster generation or CSS icon shadows.

**Amount behaviour:** independent holding and price comparison bases determine green (#13763F) and orange (#B94E00) ink. A flat snapshot uses the last known direction for that value; with no history, the initial colour is green as Aastha specified. The arrow remains ↔ and 0%/₹0 when there is no change—retained colour does not invent a direction. Rounded badges use bright green/orange backgrounds with navy arrows. The pure `resolveCompanyStatusMovement` helper carries each channel independently; the live company stores only these two display directions in sessionStorage under `kidstock-status-colours:netflix`. The quote/holding values, progress, wallet and reward rules remain unchanged. The working quote is still the authored static ₹1,100 snapshot; real price ticks were not added. Comparison controls demonstrate up/down/flat sequences without modifying the wallet. A dedicated no-change control demonstrates colour retention.

**Exchange rename:** the visible tab is Exchange across all 11 prototype routes; route filenames/internal keys remain compatible. Exchange is the selected pink exchange-building icon and still opens `discover.html`. Review navs, authoring helpers and navigation review use the new label. The company/overview back labels and directory document title also reflect Exchange. B and content layout 1 are selected; the row-treatment choice is still open. The main company provisionally uses icon rows. Explicit preview links use `?statusRows=icons|square|capsule`; older materials/content alternatives remain historical comparisons.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-status-rows.mjs` passes **508 assertions / 72 state-treatment-width views** (3 treatments × 8 transitions × 360/393/1280), plus real company previews and reloads. It verifies equal rows, icons versus pill geometry, inherited inks, eyebrow headings, fit, starting green price, independent amount movement, retention through both up→flat and down→flat sequences, separate persisted directions on reload, truthful flat arrows, unchanged comparison wallet, and Exchange navigation. No JS errors or horizontal overflow. Shared nav regression **12 views / 43 assertions** passes, including route and keyboard behavior; minimum nav label contrast 4.81. All 11 authored navs also contain Exchange before JavaScript runs. Six selected amount/label contrast pairs pass (minimum **5.057:1**) on white and pill tints, recorded in `captures/status-row-contrast.json`. All **779 local links pass**; the broader static script still exits nonzero for the three older operator-selected text pairs, minimum 2.73. New icon/square/capsule invested screenshots visually inspected. No fresh full-company/full-brief pass claimed. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; local Chrome/Playwright supplied checks. `git diff --check` passes.

**Resume:** Aastha compares the three row treatments and continues company/style review. No row-treatment approval inferred; no other new question required. C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and remaining brief §7 stay open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype/own notes only, local checkpoint commit, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-selected-status-rows-files.txt`.

## Centered status and clay next-step objects · 12 October 2026

Aastha selected **squarish pills** and requested exact bright Missions purple / Exchange pink text, horizontally centered columns, aligned stage/amount rows and district/change rows, quiz-aware investment wording, left-aligned big-idea eyebrow/title, and a clay keyboard-key exploration for the whole first dynamic CTA with other options.

**Status applied:** B + content 1 + squarish pills are now the default. Stage text is exact **#8400FF**, district text exact **#FF00A1**, on the existing pale purple/pink pill fills. Headings and values center within their columns. The stage pill and both amounts share a common first-row center; the district pill and both change indicators share the second. Equal 36 px non-interactive content rows reduce unnecessary height; comparison captions sit below. Before the quick quiz, the unowned investment column reads **“Complete the quick quiz to begin investing”**; after completion, **“Not invested yet.”** The former-held state retains No holding. The renderer receives `quickComplete` from the existing state flag; eligibility is unchanged. Status gallery and review fixtures include pre/post-quiz states. Movement colours, green initial prices, independent colour memory and Exchange naming remain §32 behaviour.

**Big idea:** THE BIG IDEA eyebrow and headline are left-aligned within the right-hand column of the first row. The existing illustration, sticky-paper/tape shape, tilt and full-width description stay intact. No illustration edit or new raster generation.

**Review CTA materials at `http://localhost:8765/cta-style-options.html`:** 1, Keyboard key—a raised face, bevelled rim/base and press movement; 2, Cushion tile—a pillowy clay surface with soft edge shading and a squash; 3, Game cartridge—a chunky moulded frame, recessed face and side grips. All full CTA content sits on the object. A control compares quick quiz, next chapter, mission and investment, using the existing activity palette/text pairings. Real-page links preview `?ctaStyle=key|soft|cartridge`. The existing dynamic next-step renderer adds only face markup and a material attribute, retaining the real button/link and data-quiz behavior. CSS provides the clay construction, focus outline, press effect and reduced-motion support. **Keyboard key is provisionally on the main page; no CTA material is selected as final.** Squarish Status selection is resolved; CTA choice remains open.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-clay-cta.mjs` passes **83 assertions / 36 material-tone-width views** (3 materials × 4 activity types × 360/393/1280), plus selected row alignment at 360/393/1440 and live company flows for all three materials. It verifies content on each face, fit, exact bright label colours, common horizontal centers, no bottom rule, default squarish pills, pre-quiz hint, left-aligned idea text, real CTA opening, completion with wrong answers, any-score completion changing the copy, dynamic progression to the next chapter while retaining material, and reduced motion. No JS errors or horizontal overflow. Keyboard, cushion and cartridge quiz previews, selected centered invested rows, and live lime chapter-key screenshot visually inspected. Captures and results are under `captures/`; final pre/post-quiz status and left-aligned idea are captured separately. No new full-company/full-brief pass claimed; earlier movement/navigation suites remain §32 evidence.

All **803 local links pass**. The broader static palette audit still exits nonzero for the older operator-selected pairs (minimum 2.73). Exact bright purple on the pill tint passes **5.068:1**; the specifically requested bright pink on its tint measures **3.064:1** and is a further normal-text contrast exception, recorded in `captures/selected-square-bright-contrast.json`. Requested yellow/pink and white/orange pairings also apply to the clay CTA materials; this checkpoint does not claim all material/text contrast passes. `git diff --check` passes. Browser execution tool remains unavailable; existing local Chrome/Playwright supplied verification.

**Resume:** Aastha compares keyboard key / cushion tile / game cartridge and continues company/style review at `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html`. No pending Status choice. C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and remaining brief §7 stay open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype/own notes only, local checkpoint commit, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-centered-status-clay-cta-files.txt`.

## Refined key surfaces and right-aligned status · 12 October 2026

Aastha confirmed the keyboard-key direction and supplied a spacebar reference, requesting clearer surfaces/lines and the way its shadow falls. She also directed all three status sections to be **right-aligned**, superseding §33’s centered alignment.

**Key refined:** the top cap sits above a separate shaded base with sloping side faces, diagonal corner/bevel seams and a thin lower edge. Strong inset glow is replaced with a quieter cap highlight; the cast shadow falls below/slightly left of the base. Native decorative SVG in CSS supplies only seam lines. On press, the cap travels 4 px while the base stays fixed; reduced motion removes cap travel. Dynamic content, palette and real quiz/chapter actions remain intact. The current keyboard-key direction is recorded on the review page; cushion/cartridge remain earlier comparisons, not a new choice request.

**Status:** headings, stage/district pills, amounts, changes and period labels align to the right within all three columns, with consistent 4 px content padding. The common horizontal stage/amount row and district/change row remain. Quiz-aware investment copy, squarish pills, exact bright text and movement-colour memory are unchanged.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-clay-cta.mjs` passes **85 assertions / 36 material-tone-width views**, plus row checks at 360/393/1440 and live quiz flows for all three materials. Updated checks verify right edges, retained cross-column row alignment, real any-score quiz completion/next chapter behavior, fixed base versus cap press, and reduced motion. No JS errors or overflow. Refined resting/pressed key and right-aligned invested status captures visually inspected. `captures/selected-square-right-*` and `captures/clay-cta-key-pressed-393.png` are the new focused captures; other clay captures/results refreshed. `git diff --check` passes. Full static/link and contrast evidence remains §33; URLs and colour values did not change. No full-brief or all-contrast pass claimed. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied checks; in-app execution remains unavailable.

Review `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html` and `http://localhost:8765/cta-style-options.html`. Continue Aastha’s visual refinement of the keyboard-key direction; no new required information. C5/Apple/Starbucks/brief §7 remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling and local checkpoint only; no merge back, push, publication, application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-key-refinement-files.txt`.

## Compact left-aligned status and shallower key · 12 October 2026

Aastha corrected her previous instruction: all three columns are now **left-aligned**. STATUS / INVESTMENT / PRICE headings, pills, amounts, change indicators and captions align to each column’s inner left edge. Common content rows are 32 px with a 2 px gap (previously 36 px / 6 px); stage/amount and district/change centers remain aligned across columns. Bottom padding is slightly reduced. Selected B white treatment, 1 : 1.3 : 1 widths, two squarish pills, exact purple/pink, independent movement colours and quiz-aware wording remain.

**Keyboard refinement:** the cap and base share their horizontal outline and 18 px corner radius, eliminating the protruding top corners. The base depth is 10 px rather than 23 px; cap padding is 18/22 px, title/CTA gaps are smaller. The native SVG diagonal/horizontal seam overlay is removed entirely. Quiet surface gradients, a cap edge highlight and a shadow beneath the base supply depth. Press travel is 3 px with a fixed base; reduced motion keeps the face still. All four activity palettes and real dynamic actions remain.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-clay-cta.mjs` passes **89 assertions / 36 material-tone-width views**, plus status checks at 360/393/1440 and real quiz-to-chapter flows for all three materials. Checks cover left edges including divider width, equal compact rows, amount/change spacing, shared cap outline, 10 px depth, absent seam overlay, fixed-base press, reduced motion, no overflow and no JavaScript errors. Phone-width invested status and lime key captures visually inspected; live before/after-quiz status, initial key and idea captures refreshed. `git diff --check` passes. Earlier movement/nav/link/contrast results remain their prior checkpoint evidence; no fresh full-brief or all-contrast pass claimed. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied checks; in-app browser execution remains unavailable.

Review `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html` and `http://localhost:8765/cta-style-options.html`. Continue visual review with Aastha; no required information outstanding. C5/complete Apple/Starbucks/brief §7 remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and own notes only; local commit, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-compact-status-shallow-key-files.txt`.

## News desk and option-2 spacing parity · 12 October 2026

Aastha requested the exact spacing of **option 2, squarish pills**, and a playful In the News section with its own identity. The live status and option 2 already share the selected spacing rules: **18/8/30 px outer padding, 4 px column insets, 17 px heading row, 32 px value rows, 2 px gaps**. Fresh browser comparisons confirm the computed padding, grids and gaps match at 360/393/1440; no further spacing change or return to centered alignment was needed. The review’s stale “centered rows” description is corrected to compact left-aligned rows.

**News desk implemented:** a bold In the News masthead on cyan, a native newspaper symbol, double editorial rule, cream front-page sheet with folded corner and offset ink edge, yellow world-day tag, and orange reading arrow. The lead story keeps its practice-world label and explicit made-up-story note. A smaller lavender archive clipping shows the existing dated company headline, source and 21 Jan 2025 date. A navy capsule opens the news library, which now uses matching paper/clipping styling. Both visible cards retain their real reader routes, age-band copy and return links. Existing authored facts are not refreshed or newly claimed as current news. No raster generation needed; shapes are native SVG/CSS. Empty and archive-only states render without missing event links. News remains below the next-step CTA and above Learn; it does not alter next-step selection or wallet rules.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-news-desk.mjs` passes **83 assertions / 6 width-band views** at 360/393/1440 in both age bands, plus archive-only and empty branches. It verifies exact status spacing parity, responsive fit, source labels, both reader routes and returns, library opening/closing, unchanged wallet storage, fallback states and no JavaScript errors. New news-desk captures visually inspected at 360/393. All eight measured news text/background pairs pass normal-text contrast; minimum **6.09:1**, recorded in `captures/news-desk-contrast.json`. All **803 local links pass**. The broader palette audit still exits nonzero for the earlier requested colour pairs (minimum 2.73); prior selected bright-pink pill exception remains. `git diff --check` passes. This is a focused news/status review, not a full-brief or all-contrast pass. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied verification; in-app browser execution remains unavailable.

Review `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html#company-news`. Continue Aastha’s company/style review; no required information outstanding. C5/full Apple/Starbucks/brief §7 remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and own notes, local commit only, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. ## Clay corkboard and latest Netflix news/history · 12 October 2026

Aastha requested a cleaner corkboard backing for In the News, a check against the latest Netflix content, and clay format for every new visual asset. **Implemented:** warm, restrained clay-cork texture with a 40% cream wash, two clean cream sheets with quiet lower bevels, and individual pink clay pushpins. The flat native newspaper symbol, cyan newspaper surround, folded corner and lavender clipping treatment are removed. Headings/source labels remain readable; no CSS filters or shadows on the pin images. Functional arrows remain text controls. Status still matches option 2’s squarish-pill spacing exactly.

**Content audit and adaptation:** canonical Content’s Netflix file is **v3, written 12 Oct**, at SHA256 `b752e44c45d04f5b0dd7c183ba739a0a3e38627c4f5dcbe7ab3828497b00a405`; estate main and this worktree’s source match. Read Content’s 12 Oct session and shape/handoff notes. The old presentation adapter is pinned to v1. Its visible news/event headlines happen to agree with v3, but it omitted reading-completion copy and the historical event library. New read-only `adapt-news.py` generates `company-news-data.js` from **events, news, real_story_events** without running `adapt-company.py` or changing the chapter/mission engine. Company and reader pages consume this explicit news layer; generator shell includes it. Dates/day numbers come from source fields rather than fixed UI literals. The library now contains one default day-9 practice story, one dated company-news story and **seven history-based practice stories**. Their readers use both age bands’ source headlines/story/watch/lesson, and available `what_you_learned` lists. Learning objectives stay unrendered. History is explicitly unscheduled and does not change holdings. Invalid story keys give a recovery link. Reader back, close and bottom return preserve the selected news age band.

**Scope:** this is the latest Netflix **news/history** adaptation. The broader six-chapter/twelve-mission C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 work remain open; no full Netflix migration claimed. The canonical content remains read-only. Facts still await Kidstock’s content check; source news remains a dated learning archive, not a new live-news claim.

**Assets:** built-in imagegen skill, one call each for `assets/news-clay-v1/cork-clay.png` and `pushpin-pink.png`; both 1254×1254, pin has genuine RGBA transparency. Generated originals inspected and copied intact into the prototype. Exact prompts, file hashes and mode are in `assets/news-clay-v1/manifest.json`. Cork is sculpted clay material, pin follows the approved gradient clay language; neither has an added cast/icon shadow. No CLI/API fallback or image editing used.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-news-desk.mjs` passes **139 assertions / 6 responsive band-width views** at 360/393/1440 plus all 14 historical reader routes and missing-key/fallback cases. It compares the loaded source payload and hash directly with canonical Netflix, checks provenance/learning copy, band-preserving returns, nine library entries, exact option-2/live spacing, loaded shadow-free clay pins, fit, unchanged library wallet storage and no JavaScript errors. Latest corkboard, expanded library and history readers captured and visually inspected. CTA regression passes **89 assertions / 36 material views**, including real any-score quiz-to-chapter flows and key press/reduced motion. All **805 local links pass**. Current news text contrast passes (minimum **5.168:1**), including a conservative bound over every cork pixel after the cream wash. Broader static palette audit still exits nonzero for earlier requested text pairs (minimum 2.73); bright-pink status exception also remains. `git diff --check` passes. No full-brief or all-palette contrast pass claimed. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied verification; in-app execution unavailable.

Review `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html#company-news`. Continue the company/style review with Aastha; no required information outstanding. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and own notes, local commit only; no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-clay-cork-news-v3-files.txt`.

## Single news pin, concept drawer and clay Exchange cards · 12 October 2026

Aastha asked for one active/latest news pin-up with only headline, subheading and Read the story; Netflix’s red as its background; no Company Journal eyebrow or practice-world/day/made-up-story labels in the preview. She also requested a right-hand subscription concept drawer based on her reference, **without changing the big-idea sticky note**, and illustrated Exchange company cards based on her second reference.

**News:** the corkboard now holds exactly one red (#BD003D) pin-up. It chooses the most recently scheduled currently active company event, otherwise the latest dated company-news item. It displays only its existing headline, watch/why subheading and yellow Read the story link, with the existing clay pin. The masthead is just In the News. Second archive preview is removed. Nine stories remain in the library, and their readers preserve source/provenance/unscheduled-history context. Netflix v3 source payload/hash and age-band copy remain §37; no invented price effects. Priority fixtures test two active stories and fallback from an expired event to latest dated news.

**Concept drawer:** clicking Subscription opens a pink sheet sliding in from the right, aligned within the phone frame on desktop and mobile. It has the requested tilted PF Reminder title on a yellow highlight, two rounded gradient-clay decorative rays, plain description, pink example tile, close control and purple/yellow Got it. Native modal semantics, focus trapping/restoration, Escape, backdrop and close button are preserved; exit slides right, reduced motion removes the slide. The existing glossary component is reused across routes and in the authoring shell. **Sticky-note markup and CSS are unchanged**; the verifier compares the note with fixed pre-change commit `bf78f69` in both bands. The reference was applied only to the concept sheet.

**Exchange cards:** a two-column grid of 20 illustrated covers, using branded colour surfaces and subtle background shapes, original company marks on soft clay badge surfaces, PF Reminder names, large individual gradient-clay product illustrations, real availability/status pills and navigation arrows. Existing canonical roster order, searches, district filters, world-day/district gates and destination URLs remain. No percentage movements were fabricated from the visual reference; these cards show the prototype’s actual open/owned/gated/future state. Netflix reuses its approved cinema-chair asset. **19 new individual transparent clay illustrations** cover the rest of the canonical roster; no CSS image filters or icon/illustration shadows. Original logo marks are copied unchanged from the demo media sources onto CSS clay badge surfaces. `exchange-card-data.js` contains presentation assets/colours, not company data; `exchange-cards.css` loads only on Exchange. Existing page heading/navigation stays Exchange.

**Assets:** built-in imagegen, one call per illustration. All 19 are 1254×1254 RGBA with real transparency, visually inspected in `captures/exchange-clay-assets-contact.png`. Saved individually in `assets/exchange-clay-v1/`; exact prompts, hashes and reused/source assets are recorded in its `manifest.json`. Generated originals copied intact; no CLI/API fallback or image editing. No new concept raster is needed: its highlight/rays are native gradient surfaces, matching the existing CSS clay material approach.

**Fresh evidence:** news **143 assertions / 6 band-width views** plus all historical readers, priority/fallback checks; drawer **69 assertions / 6 band-width views** covering fixed unchanged-note baseline, slide direction, phone bounds, fit, focus, all dismissal methods and reduced motion; Exchange **49 assertions / 3 widths** covering all 20 loaded logos/artwork, canonical order, two-column fit, real routes, search/empty-search recovery and six district filters including empty Sports. Tests run at 360/393/1440; no JavaScript errors or overflow. Dynamic CTA regression **89 assertions / 36 material views** still passes with real quiz-to-chapter flow. News, drawer, every illustrated card and contact sheet visually inspected. All **807 local links pass**. 27 new text pairs pass normal-text contrast, minimum **4.529:1**, including conservatively lightened company-cover backgrounds; record in `captures/company-review-colours.json`. Older requested palette pairs still make the broad static audit exit nonzero (minimum 2.73), and the prior bright-pink pill exception remains. Authoring shell parses; `git diff --check` passes. No all-palette/full-brief pass claimed. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied checks; in-app execution remains unavailable.

## Paper news, robust drawer and one Netflix scene · 12 October 2026

Aastha requested eyebrow-size In the News, a more paper-like red pin with a small upper-right fold, a fix for the oversized browser concept drawer in her screenshot, and **one company card first** with a complete logo-colour clay scene and price-percentage movement.

**News paper:** In the News is now the page eyebrow style (Nunito 900, 14 px, .075em, uppercase), rather than a display heading. The red pin-up has straighter paper edges, a slight tilt, subtle bottom-edge variation and a 22 px folded upper-right corner. The clay pin stays unclipped and shadow-free. One active/latest story and its simplified copy remain; no sticky-note change.

**Drawer diagnosis and repair:** the old CSS fallback was 90vw with no width cap. A new-CSS/old-or-not-yet-run-handler combination can therefore produce the browser-wide panel in the supplied screenshot; rotating a full-width heading then lets its left side cross the description. Width now has a 350 px CSS cap even before JavaScript runs. Positioning sets explicit width/right/height, using the phone’s main content bounds. On desktop, it places the drawer near the clicked word and clamps it inside the visible phone; on mobile it docks at the right/bottom. The title has max-content width and a left transform origin. Rounded corners keep the panel inside the phone outline. Open drawers reposition on resize. Final shared script and stylesheet receive a paired fresh cache version (`20261012-r39-final`) on all prototype pages and in the authoring shell. Native focus/dismissal/reduced-motion behavior remains. No cached-runtime state was assumed as proven; fallback and wide-window cases now have explicit regression evidence. Sticky-note markup remains compared with fixed commit `bf78f69` and is unchanged.

**One Netflix scene card:** `assets/exchange-scenes-v1/netflix-scene.png` is one complete 1024×1536 RGB scene—Netflix-red layered clay environment, oversized clay cinema chair, popcorn and remote. It is used full-bleed with real HTML logo/name/price/movement/navigation on top. The first generated scene looked fabric-like; a built-in image edit removed the cloth/plant/lamp and refined the materials to smooth rounded clay. Only the refined final asset is copied into the prototype. Exact initial and refinement prompts, hash and tool are in the scene manifest. No CSS image shadow/filter added. **Only Netflix uses this scene treatment; the other 19 covers remain §38.**

**Price badge:** `netflix-card.js` renders whole-rupee share price plus calculated price percentage, rounded to one decimal when needed, ↑/↓/↔ and green/orange colour. Flat movement retains the supplied previous colour; initial colour is green. Exchange reads the existing price-colour memory and displays the existing authored **₹1,100 / 0%** company snapshot, not an invented movement. Card/company quote parity is tested. `netflix-card-review.html` is the dedicated one-card study: starting snapshot, clearly labelled illustrative +2.4% rise, −0.6% fall and unchanged-after-fall. These review controls affect only the preview and leave the wallet/current Exchange snapshot untouched. It starts on the illustrative rise so the styling is easy to assess. No price feed or actual event adjustment introduced.

**Fresh evidence:** drawer **115 assertions / 10 band-size views** including 1865×1312 (supplied screenshot scale), 3740×2630, normal desktop and phones, CSS-only fallback, no title/description collision, phone horizontal/vertical bounds, live resize, focus, all dismissals and reduced motion. News **143 assertions / 6 views** remains clean/single with v3 source and reader checks. Scene **49 assertions / 12 mode-width views** verifies full-background geometry, overlays, rounded quote/percentage maths, colour retention, actual Exchange snapshot, card-to-company parity and no wallet change. Exchange roster regression **49 assertions / 3 widths** and CTA **89 assertions / 36 views** pass. No JavaScript errors or overflow. Folded news, wide drawer and scene card visually inspected. All **815 local links pass**; authoring shell parses; `git diff --check` passes. Existing broad palette audit still exits nonzero for prior requested pairs (minimum 2.73); no new full/all-palette audit claimed. Earlier selected-label contrast exceptions remain. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied checks; in-app execution unavailable.

Review **`http://localhost:8765/netflix-card-review.html`** for the one-card scene/movement study, and `http://localhost:8765/pages/company.html?review=r39-final` for the news and robust drawer. Continue refinement of Netflix before rolling a scene treatment across the roster, as Aastha requested. No required information outstanding for this checkpoint. Broader six-chapter/twelve-mission C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and own notes; local commit only, no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-12-paper-drawer-netflix-scene-files.txt`.

## Netflix card proportions and layout · 13 October 2026

Aastha chose to continue with **the Netflix scene card and its size/layout**. The complete clay scene asset is retained unchanged; no new generation or image edit is needed.

**Measured issue:** the 310 px minimum height combined with the 2:3 aspect ratio gave Netflix a preferred width around 206.7 px, exceeding its actual Exchange grid track (155 px at a 360 px viewport; 170.5 px at 393/desktop). Earlier tests checked child bounds and document overflow but missed overlap with the adjacent Apple card. The Netflix card now has explicit 100% track width, no forced minimum height, 2:3 aspect ratio and start alignment, so it is **155×232.5 px** at 360 and **170.5×255.75 px** at 393/desktop. The full scene uses centered, uncropped cover geometry. Its original file/hash is unchanged.

**Layout refinement:** logo, name and price form one left-aligned identity group; price moves from the separate lower floating label to directly below the company name. A small opaque Netflix-red plate keeps its white text legible over the bright scene at the narrower width. A trial broader scene tint was discarded so the artwork retains its original colour. The movement badge and navigation circle remain together at the lower edge, with sizes adapting to the card. Existing green/orange/flat colour retention, whole-rupee quote and percent calculations are unchanged. The live Exchange still uses the authored ₹1,100 / 0% snapshot. The other 19 covers remain the prior study; their legacy heights are not normalized during this one-card refinement, so mixed-height grid rows remain a transitional context.

**Review sizes:** `netflix-card-review.html` now starts at the actual Exchange-column size, with a Card size selector for a larger review (up to 350×525 px). A live dimension caption makes the difference explicit. The same one card and unchanged image render in both sizes. Rise, fall, starting and unchanged-after-fall controls remain illustrative, with no wallet writes. The component JS/CSS receive a fresh `20261013-r40` cache version. The existing preview server is running on 8765; the initial non-escalated probe did not reach it, and a restart attempt found the port already occupied. No existing process was killed or replaced.

**Fresh evidence:** `verify-netflix-scene.mjs` passes **136 assertions / 24 movement-size-viewport views** (2 sizes × 4 movements × 360/393/1440). It verifies exact 2:3 proportions, aligned/non-overlapping logo/name/price, full scene geometry, the opaque price plate, child/page fit, value math/colour retention, untouched wallet, actual grid-track width and no overlap with Apple, single-card scope and quote parity with company status. Exchange regression **49 assertions / 3 widths** passes, preserving the 20-company order, loaded assets/logos, filters, search recovery, availability and routes. No JavaScript errors or overflow. Both review sizes visually inspected. The measured white/Netflix-red price pairing passes normal-text contrast at **6.499:1** in all 24 views; record in `captures/netflix-refined-price-contrast.json`. All **815 local links pass**. Broad static palette audit still exits nonzero for the older selected pairs (minimum 2.73); no all-palette/full-brief pass claimed. Authoring shell parses; `git diff --check` passes. Other company/drawer suites remain §39 evidence and were not repeated for this card-only change. Historical §39 capture filenames are preserved; current evidence uses `netflix-scene-refined-*`. Local Chrome/Playwright supplied checks; in-app execution remains unavailable.

Review **`http://localhost:8765/netflix-card-review.html?review=r40`**, switching between Exchange column and Larger review. Continue Netflix sizing/style review with Aastha before any scene rollout. No required information outstanding. Broader six-chapter/twelve-mission C5 migration, full Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Same Test C ceiling: prototype and own notes, local commit only; no merge back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-13-netflix-card-layout-files.txt`.

## Three Netflix card directions · 13 October 2026

Aastha rejected the scene-card format and provided two new references: profile/banner/overlapping avatar and framed collectible/category notch/price tab. She requested both adapted to Netflix plus a distinctly different third recommendation. **Three review-only layouts are implemented** in `netflix-card-options.html`, with native HTML data and the approved unchanged clay cinema asset/original logo.

1. **Profile:** Netflix-red clay banner, circular original-logo badge overlapping its lower-left edge, company name, Entertainment, Discovered, two-column price/change strip and full-width Inside Netflix action. The reference’s rating/earnings/rate are replaced by relevant stock data, with status beside identity rather than invented metrics.
2. **Collectible:** navy rounded frame, Entertainment category notch above the clay scene, share price in its lower tab, logo/name, change/status inset and cream action. No NFT or cryptocurrency vocabulary carried into the product.
3. **Cinema ticket — recommendation:** yellow admission-style header, red clay scene/identity, purple status stamp, perforated tear line with edge notches, and cream quote stub with share price/change/action. It supplies a different cinema-specific structure and a clearly separated data area. This is a recommendation, **not an operator selection**.

All show title, category, share price, arrow/percentage, mastery status and a working company destination. Default is the existing authored ₹1,100 / 0% snapshot; rise/fall/flat-after-fall are clearly labelled fixtures. Existing movement helper is reused (green/orange, ↔ for flat, last colour retained), and controls write no wallet/storage. Actual Exchange size and larger review selectors update all three together. At 393/desktop the Exchange width is 170.5 px: profile 327.75 px high, collectible 336.20 px, ticket 335.19 px. At 360 the width is 155 px with heights 327.75/321.63/318.14. Larger review width is 320 px. The longest rising movement exposed a narrow profile-strip fit issue; equal stat columns and smaller bounded badge/type corrected it.

**Scope preserved:** live Exchange and the other 19 cards are unchanged. No company sticky note, drawer, status, news, navigation, content adapter, wallet or application-repository edits. The old one-scene review links to the new comparison. CSS-native card surfaces and existing clay illustrations suffice; no new raster generation, artwork filters or icon shadows. Neither reference is treated as permission to roll across companies.

**Fresh verification:** `verify-netflix-options.mjs` passes **762 assertions / 24 views / 72 card instances** (3 widths × 2 sizes × 4 quote states), checking width/text/page fit, loaded unfiltered/shadow-free artwork, data mappings, exact actual-track widths, colours/directions, three distinct structures, status/category, CTA bounds/destinations and unchanged session storage. All three CTAs navigated to company; no JS errors. Five captures include side-by-side actual/larger comparisons and 155 px rising state, visually inspected. **823 local links pass.** Broad static script still exits nonzero for earlier selected palette pairs, minimum 2.73; no all-palette claim. Sixteen selected solid text pairs used here pass at minimum **4.595:1**; `captures/netflix-options-colours.json` records scope. `git diff --check` passes. Existing live/company regression suites remain prior evidence, not rerun for this isolated comparison.

A sharp **one-page browser PDF** at `captures/netflix-card-options.pdf` includes all three larger cards, current values, recommendation and review controls; `pdfinfo` and `pdftotext` confirm one complete page and selectable text. Responsive interactive review: **http://localhost:8765/netflix-card-options.html?review=r41**. Browser skill read; execution tool discovery yielded none, so existing local Chrome/Playwright fallback supplied checks, not an in-app connection. No tool installation was necessary.

**Resume:** continue Aastha’s review of these three concrete options; no choice presumed and no required information outstanding. C5 six-chapter/twelve-mission migration, full Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 remain open. Do not run `adapt-company.py`. Test C ceiling remains prototype/own notes, local commit only, no merge-back/push/publication/application/raw edits. Full changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-13-netflix-three-options-files.txt`. An unrelated untracked `.wrangler/` cache appeared during the session; it is not inspected, edited, staged or included in this deliverable.

## Publishable frame and Style Tile checkpoint · 13 October 2026

Aastha explicitly requested: merge main, read the 13 Oct dev-link dispatch and frame screenshot, fix the desktop frame first, place all three card options on the Style Tile, rebuild/check/commit, and return the unchanged publish line. The dispatch and screenshot were read in full. Main merged as **f13c333**, resolving only the session-index conflict by retaining Test C’s §41 row plus main’s updated UI/content rows. No merge-back or push. Aastha now publishes the exploration to **https://kidstock-test-c.pages.dev** for Aaira under the staging Access policy (decision 112 / dispatch). **This session did not deploy or verify the hosted Access account.**

**Frame first:** the existing desktop .phone rule now has `height: min(852px, calc(100vh - 40px))`, sticky position/top 20 px, flex column, and flexing/min-height-zero/overflow-auto main. The frame’s border is included in its height (`border-box`, outer width 407 px), preserving **393 px of screen width**. This prevents the border/padding from exceeding the cap. Review-layout top/bottom padding is 20 px, so initial placement also fits without needing an outer scroll. At 700/800/1000 px windows the outer frame is 660/760/852 px respectively. The glass dock remains absolutely anchored at the foot of the phone; content scrolls underneath it with existing reserved bottom space. Mobile behavior is preserved. All directly served HTML gets paired shared CSS cache version `20261013-r42`.

**Style Tile next:** under **“Netflix card options”** (`style-tile.html#netflix-card-options`), all three actual cards appear with the one-line comparison instruction, shared size and movement controls, live dimension captions and link to the focused comparison. The existing renderer, data and approved clay artwork are reused; no new generation or selected-card assumption. The PF Reminder font is loaded from the committed supplied OTF for the embedded cards. Card actions and comparison-footer links now have 44 px targets. `render-netflix-options-review.py` is included in both full and palette rebuild paths, so this section survives rebuilds. The live Exchange design, sticky note, status colours and company flow are unchanged.

**Publish topology:** `render-publish-review.py` replaces the capture-dependent contact sheet with a connected live-review index and turns navigation capture thumbnails into live relative links. Every HTML page—including five previously orphaned legacy studies/readers—is reachable from index. Neither shared review page depends on excluded captures. Runtime HTML uses only relative references, with no leading / or loopback paths. Internal PNG/PDF evidence remains under captures, excluded by the operator’s command. The unrelated untracked generated Wrangler cache is preserved intact outside the upload tree at `/private/tmp/kidstock-test-c-wrangler-cache-20261013-174426`; no cache content was read. A scoped .gitignore covers future Wrangler/Python caches. Before future upload checkpoints keep runtime cache outside the upload folder unless the orchestrator adds its exclude.

**Rebuilds:** ran `python3 render-pages.py`, `python3 render-palette-review.py`, and final repeat to verify that the authoring path retains the frame/cache/Style Tile links. `verify-static.py` reports **597 links, zero errors** but still exits nonzero on the operator’s three earlier exact text pairs: yellow on pink 2.87:1, white on orange 2.73:1, white on fall red 3.30:1. Their colours were not silently changed. No all-contrast pass claimed.

**Fresh checks:** frame **78 assertions / 12 route-height views** at 700/800/1000 for cover, Style Tile, Home and company, plus mobile Style Tile; 393 px inner width, capped full frame, main-only scroll, nav stability, assets and embedded controls pass. Clay **30 pixel checks**, zero bleeding: five individual activity icons plus five remaining status sprite crops. The legacy runner expected ten SVG icons; it now tests individual assets as fitted canvases plus the five real sprite clips. Local HTTP avoids file-origin canvas taint. Palette **36 functional assertions / 24 views**, no JS errors, overflow, broken images or small targets; its broad audit still reports earlier exact palette/status/decorative pairs and **30 sub-14 px preview labels** on each of the two mobile Style Tile widths. Those are review-card scale samples, not a claimed full type/contrast pass. The old decoder waited indefinitely on lazy offscreen images; palette/company runners now request eager images before decoding. Company **63 functional assertions / 68 views**, no JS errors, external requests, geometry, asset or target failures; broad contrast audit remains nonzero. Empty-news fixture now clears the current `COMPANY_NEWS_COPY` adapter rather than superseded COMPANY_COPY fields. Functional assertions were retained. CTA **89 / 36 views** and drawer **115 / 10 views** pass, including real any-score quiz-to-chapter flows, unchanged sticky-note baseline, sheet placement and dismissals. Three Netflix cards **762 assertions / 24 views / 72 instances** pass after the 44 px action update.

**Direct-upload rehearsal:** copied with the exact rsync exclusions into `/private/tmp/kidstock-test-c-checkpoint-r42` and served only locally on 8766. **9 browser checks / 8 key pages** pass with zero JS errors, missing assets or external requests; embedded controls and font load. Static upload audit **604 references, all 25 pages reachable**, no excluded capture/CSS asset dependency. Desktop 700 px frame, embedded comparison and mobile were visually inspected. This is a local upload-shaped check, not a hosted/deployed result. `git diff --check` passes. Main loopback server 8765 stays for local work.

**Resume:** Aaira should compare the three Netflix layouts on the Style Tile and check Home/Netflix scrolling inside a laptop-height frame. No required information outstanding. Broader C5 six-chapter/twelve-mission migration, full Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 remain open. Do not run `adapt-company.py`. Test C writes prototype/own notes and commits locally; **Aastha publishes**, no session deploy, merge-back/push/application/raw edits. Changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-13-publishable-frame-style-tile-files.txt`.

## Do not publish
`.wrangler/` — generated runtime cache, currently preserved outside the tree; add to future excludes if it is retained in the exploration. `captures/`, `.codex/` and `__pycache__/` are already excluded in the supplied command.

The following forwarding line is for use **after Aastha runs the publish command**; this checkpoint itself is committed and ready, not deployed.

```sh
cd /Users/aastha/coldpress/wt-kidstock-kid-ui/clients/kidstock/engagements/commercial-validation-build/projects/kidstock-app/design-exploration/2026-10-kid-centric && rm -rf /tmp/kidstock-test-c-site && rsync -a --exclude captures --exclude '.codex' --exclude '__pycache__' ./ /tmp/kidstock-test-c-site/ && npx wrangler pages deploy /tmp/kidstock-test-c-site --project-name kidstock-test-c --branch main --commit-dirty=true
```
Published, Aaira can look at: style-tile.html#netflix-card-options → compare the three Netflix card directions, then open Home and Netflix to check the phone stays inside a laptop window and scrolls internally.

## Balanced clickable Netflix cards and fixed typography · 13 October 2026

Aastha requested a taller option-1 image, company details and quote facts in two columns, a short two-line bio in its grey box; white or darker brand framing for option 2, price with adjacent movement, Discovered beside Netflix, no repeated Entertainment/Share Price label; and removal of option 3’s perforation/circles. **All three whole cards must be clickable with no internal buttons and every option must follow the agreed type sizes.** Implemented in the standalone comparison and embedded Style Tile without selecting a final design or changing live Exchange.

**Option 1 / Profile:** banner height increases from 152 to **220 px** at 320 px width, and from 92 to **168 px** at the narrower Exchange width. Existing clay cinema artwork is fitted larger within it. Identity/category/Discovered occupy the left column, Price/Change the right. Original circle logo overlaps the banner edge. The former grey stat strip now contains the four-word, two-line bio **“Great shows. / Monthly fee.”** Price/change are native data, not part of the image. At 320 px the card is **480 px high**. Below 230 px, facts stack at the fixed text scale; they are not squeezed into two unreadable columns. At the 170.5 px Exchange track the card is **473.59 px high**. The short bio is presentation copy authorised by this request, not a canonical content rewrite.

**Option 2 / Collectible:** chose the operator-permitted **white frame with grey border**, preserving red only in the existing clay scene. Entertainment appears once in the top notch. Price and arrow/percentage sit together below the scene, with no Share Price label. Original logo, Netflix and Discovered share the identity row at full review width. No repeated Entertainment under Netflix, no separate status/stat box, no internal action. At 320 px the card is **419 px high**. Narrow views stack price/change and place Discovered below the identity to preserve the text scale; at 170.5 px the card is **392.59 px high**.

**Option 3 / Cinema pass:** yellow category header, Netflix/logo, branded clay scene and a clean cream panel with Discovered and price/change. The dotted border and both edge-circle pseudo-elements are removed. No internal action and no default “Recommended” stamp implying approval after this revision. At 320 px it is **446 px high**; at 170.5 px **398 px**. Layouts use clearer grouping, consistent padding and restrained borders; approved artwork/colours remain intact and shadow-free.

**Click/type contract:** each card is a single native anchor to `pages/company.html`, with an accessible name including identity/category/status/quote/movement. No nested links or buttons. Pointer and Enter navigation work for all three. Fixed **16 px body**, **14 px minimum metadata/eyebrow/caption**, and **24–32 px headings** throughout standalone and embedded comparisons. Amounts are 24 px, percentages 16 px. The earlier 8–13 px preview labels and size-dependent type clamps are removed. Responsive container rules rearrange content below 230 px rather than reducing type. Snapshot stays authored **₹1,100 / 0%**; review-only rise/fall/flat fixtures remain calculated by the shared helper, with independent green/orange retention and no wallet writes.

**Authoring/publication:** rebuilt with `render-pages.py` and `render-palette-review.py`. The three live cards remain under **Netflix card options**, with a one-line comparison instruction and shared size/movement controls. Relative routes and upload dependencies remain intact. Card JS/CSS and generated page cache references use **20261013-r43**. The §42 phone/frame behavior is unchanged; only cache queries change across other pages. No new raster, generation, adapter, canonical content, application, sticky note, news, nav or wallet edits. Refreshed the one-page sharp PDF in captures; it is excluded from upload. The runtime Wrangler cache is preserved outside the tree at `/private/tmp/kidstock-test-c-wrangler-cache-20261013-180843`, with no content inspected.

**Fresh evidence:** focused card runner passes **984 assertions / 24 views / 72 instances** (360/393/1440 × two sizes × four quote states). It verifies fixed font floors/body/headings, taller banner, large two-column versus narrow stacked identity/facts, exact two-line bio, white collectible/single category/amount-only quote, adjacent wide quote/status values, no perforation/circles, working whole-card mouse/keyboard links with no nested controls, fit/assets, data/colours and unchanged storage. The keyboard test initially checked the URL before navigation completed; it now waits for the actual destination. Frame/Style Tile **78 assertions / 12 height-route views** passes. Required clay runner **30 pixel checks**, zero bleed. Palette **36 functional assertions / 24 views**, no overflow, broken images, small targets, **sub-14 px text or JS errors**; the earlier 30 small-font flags per mobile Style Tile view are resolved. Company **63 functional assertions / 68 views**, no geometry/assets/targets/JS errors. Palette/company broad contrast audits still exit nonzero for earlier operator-selected colours and decorative-surface audit findings; no all-palette contrast pass is claimed and these colours were not silently changed. Current three-card selected solid text pairs **15 / 15 pass**, minimum **4.825:1**. Static **597 local links / zero errors**, with its previously recorded three exact text-pair contrast exceptions still nonzero. Upload audit **604 references / all 25 pages reachable** passes. Local exact-exclusion rehearsal **9 checks / 8 pages**, no missing assets, external calls or JS errors, passes. Large/narrow cards, embedded Style Tile and current PDF visually inspected; PDF is one page with selectable text. `git diff --check` passes. CTA/drawer evidence remains §42 and is not claimed as freshly rerun for this card-only revision.

**Resume:** continue Aastha/Aaira’s review of these revised three options; no final option or rollout is presumed. No required information outstanding. Broader C5 six-chapter/twelve-mission migration, full Apple/Starbucks and brief §7 remain open; do not run `adapt-company.py`. Scope remains prototype/own notes and local commit. Aastha publishes; no session deploy, push/merge-back/application/raw edit. Changed-path manifest: `revision-2026-10-13-balanced-clickable-cards-files.txt`.

## Do not publish
`.wrangler/` — generated runtime cache, preserved outside the tree; add to future excludes if retained. `captures/`, `.codex/` and `__pycache__/` are already excluded by the supplied command.

Forward the following sentence only **after Aastha publishes**; this session prepares and commits the checkpoint without deploying.

```sh
Published, Aaira can look at: style-tile.html#netflix-card-options → compare the taller two-column profile with its short bio, white collectible with adjacent quote/status, and clean cinema pass, including fixed text sizes and whole-card navigation.
